Eh, I hope Obama crushes Clinton. McCain seems okay republican wise, I don't know much about him but he called Falwell an "agent of intolerance" which makes miles ahead of Huckabee in my book.

[MERIT] 02-05-2008 10:40 PM

I had school and work all day, so I didnt get to cast my fake primary vote :(

[MERIT] 02-05-2008 10:43 PM

Clinton's "universal healthcare" is a total sham. all shes gonna do is make it MANDATORY for people to have health insurance, just like car insurance. if you have no money, youre still screwed.

sleepy jack 02-05-2008 10:49 PM

Billary Clinton is just going to do whatever the people sticking the dollars in her/his underwear tells them to.

[MERIT] 02-05-2008 10:50 PM

I'll give her a dollar to f*ck off.

on that not, my drugs are kiknng in, so from here on out, dont tske me seriously.

sleepy jack 02-05-2008 10:51 PM

Oh is anyone else annoyed by all this feminist Clinton crap? I can understand girl power and woman pride and all but feminism should be about equality not blind bias.

[MERIT] 02-05-2008 10:51 PM

in missouri, McCain barely beat out huckabee, and obama barely beat out hilary

It is so ridiculous, so many people are voting for her simply due to the fact that she is a woman, and people belive that we need a woman president, despite the fact that she is not the best candidate at all. I don't understand how someone could vote for a person simply on that, but clearly that is why she is getting so much support from woman. Although I suppose a lot of people say that Obama is doing the exact same thing, with race instead of gender.

You're so wrong, here. If you feel it should be about equality, I think we're overdue for a woman president, seeing as how there have been over 40 male presidents, and 0 woman presidents.
Maybe Obama wouldn't be too bad, if he wins the nomination, I'll vote for him.
The main thing I like about Hilary is that I trust her. I don't need all these idiots on TV and radio to tell me how I should feel about one candidate or another. I just feel like she's a genuine person. Obama also says he wants to 'end the politics of fear' and wants to put an end to the mentality that got us into war in the first place, which is pretty cool. How could you say McCain is cool? He looked like Frankenstein in his speech last night. I guess some liberals hear that he's the most unconservative of the Republicans, but my beef with him is that, he says he would have the Iraq war last for another 100 years if it was up to him.

California was the big prize last night for Hilary. It didn't quite seal the deal for her, but whoever won that state will most likely be the nominee.

Personally, I'm so sick of living in a culture that hates women so much. All unhappy men in our society want to blame their problems on somebody, so they always make it about a woman. Here's the thing-you were the idiot that got into the relationship in the first place. If you're not mature enough to handle the pitfalls of a relationship-don't have one. That's why I haven't been in a relationship for over 10 years, and I don't blame my problems on women, I don't point the finger elsewhere, I look at myself for strength.

I would actually like to see any woman win, just to tip the scale more in their favor a little. In this case, I actually think Clinton is a worthy candidate.

But, yeah, I would like to see a woman be president. Hell, Condoleeza Rice, or Janet Reno, or Ann C...wait no, I've gone too far. But I would just like to see women have a little better self-esteem about themselves, which would happen if a woman was president. Also, I would like to see the males in our society put that faith in them, not that I'm actually expecting that to happen.

I believe she is definitely the best candidate. I honestly think the other candidates have way more pride and ego than her, and I think she could take criticism. Oh wait, we don't want a president who actually takes criticism. We want a president who will brush criticism off, and not pay any attention to the American people who got them elected, and just go about building the hegemon, and tearing ties to our important allies.
That's probably why America is headed down the tube, because of an inability to change, and see things from a non-traditional perspective. I'm sure the press, and radio personalities will find plenty of things wrong with Hilary. Oh, she frowned. Oh, my god, what an awful person. Oh, she didn't shake every audience members hand after the debate, what a despicable human being. I hope she rots in hell. Oh yeah, and did I mention she's a woman. A woman president-how dare she try and empower women, so that they might think they actually have a purpose in life, other than to cook for me and clean up after me, and she might actually think she's equal to me, and decide to leave me. That's not the America I know. Women should be sitting in the stands while I tear up my local softball league, not at home trying to read books, and figure out how to better the world. Women don't need to read, they don't need to lead, they don't need to think. All they need to do is learn how to cook up a fine honey-glazed ham for me and the kids, and then suck a good d_(* after we put them to bed at night.

Well I don't know much about the Obama stuff, but I know tons of people who have said to me that Hillary should win simply because we need a female president. I'm sure there are tons of woman who hate her, I wouldn't doubt that, but a lot of people are voting for her because they beleive it is for the equality of women, and they need to 'balance the scales' as someone already stated. I would like to see a female president, but I simply do not belive that you should base your vote on gender, and Hillary is not the best choice for president at all.

"It's about time we need a woman president" are you serious? You shouldn't elect someone purely to prove a point. Why you feel Hillary is a genuine person I still don't know and why you keep going on about how real she is and that she's the "people's person" I don't know either. Where do you get this from? Some of the crap she's been doing is so fake that corny hug with her daughter included she cares more about the people putting money in her pockets than the voters. Where are you getting all this from? I also don't see how I'm being sexist or hating woman by saying that either. It defeats the purpose to fight for equality if you demand elevated status after achieving equality.

The Unfan 02-06-2008 05:20 PM

I don't trust Clinton. She is pro-war and intends on mandating health care without trying to lower or even balance cost in any way. She's practically a republican parading as a democrat.

Miltamec Soundsquinaez 02-06-2008 05:51 PM

She isn't pro-war. It's suggested that she voted 'for' the war in Iraq. However, all that she voted for was that we proceed in going into Iraq to search for nuclear weapons. She has stated many times that if she knew then, what she knows now, she would have never voted for it. She was naive, and has admitted to it, to think that Bush wouldn't abuse his power, and turn it into the situation it is today.

I think we can all agree that all politicians, and every person running for the current nominations are extremely corrupt in some way or another. I don't need anyone to tell me that. All I can do is just watch each candidate, and see how they present themself, and see how they handle the pressure that is being placed on them, and judge from there. I feel Hilary is doing the best job.

Hilary seems to be natural when she talks at debates, in speeches, whatnot. To me, she doesn't seem like she's trying to cram something down our throats (= agenda) like the other candidates. That's just me, though.

Unlike Obama who was opposed it from the start.

Yes, well, you called her a 'corporate whore', while Obama has actually received more money from lobbyists than Clinton, and yet you said you want Obama to crush Clinton. So she was naive at one point 4 years ago, so what? I'm sure I'll be a little naive many times down the line. Everyone makes mistakes.
Do you actually claim that Dennis Kucinich, or anyone you're voting for, is worthy of the vote, because they're perfect, and have never been corrupted once in their life? Remember, we're talking about politicians here. Finding dirt on them, is like finding it on a dirt road. The only mistake I'm claiming Hilary made was when she voted to go to war in Iraq. Whereas, earlier in this thread, you stated McCain was *pretty cool*, and yet he has admitted he would have the war go on for another 100 years. Seems odd.

OK, let me make it a question, rather than a statement. Do you think Kucinich is perfect, and never made any mistakes? Do you think Obama is perfect, and never made any mistakes? Now, I had hardly see how can find anything erroneous in this, seeing as it is a set of questions.

Let me be clear. I think all politicians are scumbags to some extent. For me not to include Clinton on that list would make me a downright liar. I thought I made it relatively clear that I don't think Clinton is perfect, but that doesn't preclude her for being considered for public office, especially with the greedy, war mongerers of today.

I said cool for a republican, as in if I had to choose one out of the ones that appear to have a chance (Huckabee, Romney and Mccain) I'd probably go for him because of what he said about Falwell (who's a complete cock.) I never went on about agreeing with his beliefs.

Hillary is much more of a greedy war mongerer than Obama. This is complete contradictory to what you said earlier, you said she was honest, the people's pick, someone you could trust and could take criticism which is bullshit. I'll quote someone now who has much more insight into the Clintons than you do: "It's not a very big thing to say, "I made a mistake" on the war, and typical of Hillary Clinton that she can't. Yeah, Falwell wasa jerk, and I'm glad you've decided to go along with the idea of 'better of 2 evils' as sad of a reality as it is. I never said people's pick, yes, she can take criticism. She calmly asserts her philosophy on the war without getting defensive. I was just wondering do you watch the debates, or just read nasty stuff about her on the interweb? Don't act like she's the one that got us into the war. Like I said earlier, she always tells the story the same, and does admit that she made a mistake. Somehow, you've confused her with Bush. Clearly, any candidate we put in there is going to be more or less the same, and so I agree with Obama that it is us, the people of America, who need to change this country. I would however like to see either a black person or a woman elected, just so maybe it would cut down on some of the racism or sexism.

*Enter comment by someone engaged with one line in that whole statement*:
oh, you think we should vote someone in just because they're black, or they're a woman? That's stupid.
No, but in this case, I feel good about both of those candidates. For anyone who thinks there's a big difference in Democrats and Republicans, you're just plain wrong. They're basically the same, minus a few ideological differences. If it's going to be all the same, no matter who we put in there, I would love to see a minority or woman. You don't see the kind of racism, and sh*t that I do on a daily basis, so I feel I'm entitled.
*Enter another dumb comment*

Actually, McCain has defended the war all along, and has been juvilant lately that some FoxNews schemesters have put together some kind of stats that show the war is going good. Actually, the war has not improved, since 2006, and their government hasn't made much progress. Their claiming it's a success strictly on the merit of the sectarian violence is down. However, the situation, in that country is still no better than it was when we entered, so looking for some kind of little moral victory in that, is just downright pathetic.

I think bush was retarded going into the war, but I believe that now that were stuck in this quagmire, it'd be better to finish what we started, not only for the sake of those who've given their lives there, but also for the sake of the Iraqis who would be screwed over if we leave. What the hell is with this? No one ever said anything about Dennis Kucinich, I have no idea why you keep going with this ridiculous arguement.
That's not true. I'm referring back to an earlier thread, where Crowquill endorsed Kucinich for president. Not everything ever posted on here was within the last 24 hours.

Lol. Evidence has been presented that Obama's not bad. All you've done is contradict yourself and ramble on about how she's the lesser of all the evils.
[/QUOTE][/QUOTE]

Just because Obama is the media darling right now, is probably why you don't think he looks bad. Clinton is being portrayed as the devil of some sorts. We all need to become completely disenfranchised from the media, and then we can come back and look at this race objectively.

I did look, I just looked again. I've found several things specifically stating he doesn't, even the official Barack Obama site and I've even found him Edwards critisizing Clinton for taking money for lobbyists. So please, provide me with these links you supposedly have.

Yeah, Falwell wasa jerk, and I'm glad you've decided to go along with the idea of 'better of 2 evils' as sad of a reality as it is. With that said, it appears as though you would vote for McCain over Hilary. I guess hating a homophobic evangelist is much higher on your agenda than establishing peaceful relationships with other countries.
I said McCain is who I'd pick for the republicans stop trying to put words in my mouth.

Quote:

That doesn't mean he can't run as an independent.
Um, what part of isn't in the race anymore don't you understand? He dropped out.

Quote:

touche, but I doubt she's as bad as anyone else.
Yeah because she's worse.

Quote:

I never said people's pick
Um you were saying she had the peoples interest at heart.

Quote:

yes, she can take criticism. She calmly asserts her philosophy on the war without getting defensive.
Where did she say she was wrong on the War? I know she's changed her opinion on it but I've never seen her admit she was wrong.

Quote:

I was just wondering do you watch the debates, or just read nasty stuff about her on the interweb?
I do and even if I didn't I'm still providing evidence to back up my claims while you're just making things up.

Quote:

Don't act like she's the one that got us into the war.
She supported it.

Quote:

Like I said earlier, she always tells the story the same, and does admit that she made a mistake. Somehow, you've confused her with Bush.
I've yet to see her admit it also how have I confused her with Bush? Stop putting words in my mouth, I never said anything to even indicate any sort of confusion.

Quote:

Clearly, any candidate we put in there is going to be more or less the same, and so I agree with Obama that it is us, the people of America, who need to change this country. I would however like to see either a black person or a woman elected, just so maybe it would cut down on some of the racism or sexism.
This isn't high school, you don't just go "Oh I'm going to vote for them based on their gender or race so I can prove a point" and completely ignore any of their issues or beliefs.

Quote:

You're so anti-anti-affirmative action Used2lguy, and anti-anti-anti-sexist, it makes me sick.
What did that have to do with anything? They're not the same, Obama isn't anywhere near the amount of a corporate whore Hillary is and at least he doesn't change opinions defending on who's funding him.

Oh boohoo, if that was true and people blindly believed the media she wouldn't be doing so well would she?

However, the situation, in that country is still no better than it was when we entered, so looking for some kind of little moral victory in that, is just downright pathetic.
I'm referring to the Republicans, not you ProggyMan.

McCain supported the War for the past year.

I just googled Obama lobbyists, and found an article in the Boston Globe that says specifically, Obama took from lobbyists, and yet for some reason, has chosen to attack Clinton on that topic.
That's weird that you would have found something supporting your argument on Obama's website. Politician's websites are usually the most slanderous of their own underhandedness.

You do realize, the winner from each party of these nominations will eventually battle each other in this big showdown called the *2008 presidential election* don't you? Let me put it in the form of a question. Would you vote for McCain over Clinton, if McCain won R's and Clinton won D's?

Quote:

Um, what part of isn't in the race anymore don't you understand? He dropped out.
From my understanding, he dropped out of the race for nomination of electorate under the 2 major parties. He can still run as an independent. Even I can run.

Quote:

Yeah because she's worse.
no, she's the same

Quote:

Um you were saying she had the peoples interest at heart.
She does. I'm aware that she appears as being fake sometimes, but you can't run a campaign by just stating facts. You have to glitz it up a bit, and do all kinds of fancy photo-ops. Al Gore found that out the hard way.

Quote:

Her opinion on it changed the day that she found out, it was going to be a full-blown war. Like I stated earlier, she didn't know at the time that what she was voting on was the war. She only voted for the troops to go over and look for the WMD's. It's not the same thing as the war. Bush basically took that initial go-ahead, and then made it troop surge after troop surge until he made it the situation it is today. That's why everyone was so mad about the war, remember? Bush said we were going to look for WMD's, and then it turned out he had a different agenda altogether-to get the man who tried to murder his dad (Sadam) and now that we've got him, we continues to compound his mistakes by trying to make it look like he wasn't lying.

Yeah, it's pretty fun. I'm always right in my own mind.

I pre-emptively made that comment in the previous post and responded to it, just so I wouldn't have to deal with it later. I already said, the 2 parties are the same, and if you already know that I think Obama and Clinton are the best candidates (I've already stated this many times, and I did so on the merit of their political ideas), then why should it matter to you that I think it's a plus that one is a minority, and one is a woman. It shouldn't

Quote:

Oh boohoo, if that was true and people blindly believed the media she wouldn't be doing so well would she?
My thinking is more down the line, where Hilary is going to get voted against in the actual presidential election by people who swear (it's not just because she's a woman, it's her, see the T.V. agh! She made an evil face!) I'm worried that all this B.S. propaganda is going to cost her the presidency, and it saddens me that some people won't even vote for her, because of such specious reasoning.
