Sounds like you're bullish on crypto.

As it scales and adoption becomes more widespread, more capital will flow into re-engineering it and optimizing it.

Of course, if crypto reaches a wide adoption and scales massively in both infrastructure and support - but the underlying technology never changes - then yes, we'd have an issue. But it's highly unlikely that's how it will play out.

This is similar to what's been said since the beginning, but that's not how it works. If you're mining anything on a blockchain (whether it's cryptocurrency or not), you're betting on it costing more resources tomorrow to mine. And every further link in the chain does get more resource intensive to build.

Perhaps - but that's how the current proof-of-work model operates. There are other algorithms and models that are being worked on and researched. We're still in the early days of adoption with immature infrastructure - so of course, it isn't optimized yet.

You're betting that it will scale up and expand but the underlying technology and energy sources will remain in stasis. Cryptocurrency, with greater adoption, could very well be a boon to renewable energy infrastructure and accompanying political solutions.

The last 10 years of cryptocurrencies' usage and implications aren't a good predictor for what the future holds.

Yeah. Been awhile. I've been mostly working on some weirdo metal shit. I haven't recorded nothing in a while. I did record something that was my take on clapping music by Steve Reich. How about you?

No, but if it does scale up then currently that means the needed resource intake will increase faster. I'm just not betting that a system in which the players benefit the most from being more and more environmentally inefficient will magically fix itself.

How will it get there? What is a good predictor for what the future holds? How is being critical of its historical usage worse than banking on it self-correcting?

Also I'm not just talking about currency. NFT's are arguably even worse (at least i can understand the value that bitcoin, etc attempts to provide)

Are you telling me you wouldn’t listen to an album called “Uber Dookie” that was made by a band called Superpoop?
