Got the bill for my emergency room visit. Here's the details.

1. Linda drove me there and back. No ambulance needed.
2. The nurse checked my vitals and took 2 viles of blood which got analyzed.
3. They hooked up an IV and gave me 2 bags of fluid.
4. The doctor talked to me for about 5 minutes.

Anyone care to guess what the bill total was?

I don't know, but a "vile" of blood sounds pretty serious.

Plastic IV bags with the protective coating to not contaminate your blood are expensive. Plus you wasted their time and they can't even make your condition into a TV show episode? They subsidize cases that are ER worthy, you know.

$400 and that's the minimum I would charge.

Maybe they didn't use a bag with the protective coating, and that was why they called it a "vile of blood". Sounds pretty sketchy to me.
