I don't know about 5a (didn't grow up in TX) but I also was in a real large school so there was no way for everybody to even know each other let alone fight.

To be on topic: The only kids who fucked with me were skinheads (SHARP - no racism, we were very progressive) and that's only because they continually lost girlfriends to other, better-looking kids who were friends of mine. Here's my bitch: I had Doc Martens and some skinhead guys harassed me for weeks and threatened to steal my shoes. I was friendly with everybody else I can even remember.

They wanted to steal your Doc's?? You said no racism but I thought thats what skinheads stood for? If not what was their cause then?

Skinheads are a mixed bag, they don't stand for any one thing. Traditionally they have close ties to Jamaican rudeboy culture so not really any prominent racism there at the root level. It's just that nazi skinheads and other related groups have gotten a lot of press so now people tend to associate all skindheads with racism. Some skinheads, like the SHARPs (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice) Engine mentioned are actively anti-racist.

They just liked to fight. Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP) is how they identified.

The worst they ever did to me was corner me in hallways and ask me what size my shoes are; and circle me with their cars staring out their windows at my shoes for a minute or so.

I was too. I'm pretty sure it differs state to state and I know there are some like 4000 kid schools in Texas. I really don't know how they determine the cutoffs. We only go up to 4A here. I just looked up and the two 4A schools I always remember playing in sports had enrollments of 2,700 an 2,000. Mine was 3A and we had like 1100.

Again im guessing so it could be more than that. It seemed like more but I cant be sure. Thats been years ago now. I could try an find a more accurate statistic and get back to ya. Either way you get the point of not being able to know everyone in the school.

My graduating class was about 500. And every year below was larger and larger so I guess about 2500 total.
