I avoid UPS whenever possible. In this case I wasn't the shipper so I had no choice in the matter.

Imagine this:

I came home last Wednesday to discover one of their little stickies on my door. Since, like most employed people, I was going to be at work between 10 and 2 on Thursday, I wasn't going to be around for their second attempt. So I went to their website to make other arrangements. They charge you to schedule delivery for a specific day or time and they change you to have the delivery sent to another address so my only option was to have them hold the package for me to pick up. A little annoying but no big deal. I'd be able to pick it up after work on Thursday.

Thursday evening before I left the office I went to their website to double check on the address of their pick-up location. I typed in my tracking number and the only piece of information it gave me about the pick-up location was "package is being held at pick-up location", no address. Unable to find any other information on the website, I gave them a call and had the joy of experiencing their automated phone system, in which there is no hope of speaking to a human. It also requires you to pick options verbally instead of with the buttons on the phone—kind of annoying when you share an office with someone. In the end, the only piece of information I could get from the phone system was the pick-up location hours, but still no address. So I went back to the website and tried their IM help. It took forever and involved me having to ask the exact same question multiple times but eventually I got the answer to my very simple question and drove over there.

The scene at their pick-up location was like soup time at a refugee camp. No lines, no organization of any kind, just a large mob of people crammed into a smallish room. I spent an hour and a half standing around in that room which, based on what I heard from other people there, made me one of the lucky ones. I watched one poor guy, who had been there longer than me, slowly go from mildly annoyed to ready to explode as a result of their mistreatment of him. When he finally reached the boiling point and asked to speak with a manager, the woman literally told him "No." They asked all of us three separate times for our name, tracking number and address, which needless to say seemed pretty inefficient, and their way of getting packages to people was to shout out the address to the entire crowd, which seems sort of... I don't know... inappropriate. Anyway, after an hour and a half of this I did finally get my package, though naturally it looked like had been run over repeatedly by the delivery truck.

Unfortunately this is far from my only bad experience with UPS.

Haha, yes! I've always had much better luck with FedEx.

Have a football.
Mind you, you'll probably find some way of making this into an innuendo of some sort.

Nope. Just gonna mock you for calling that a football. Don't you silly foreigners know that here in America (where it matters) we call that a soccer ball?

That does it Batlord, I'm reporting you to the mods you disrespectful semi-literate clown. As every person knows, the nonsense you refer to as "American football" is a disgrace of a sport. One day you shall be taught to play rugby like Richie Gray.
In American football, you insist on wearing full body armour and goodness knows what other forms of full body protection, including those daft cages around your faces.
In fact with rugby, the equipment consists of the following:
shirt (optional)
shorts (optional)
boots
socks (optional)

I hope this is made clear to you.

Advice for those traveling abroad: Call it football and you will have the respect of everyone around you. It's how I narrowly avoided being considered a "typical American" while traveling.

Were you the guy who sewed a Canadian flag onto your backpack as well? When I was travelling around the UK in 2006-07 I made a game of going up to people who had them and asked them if they missed certain things you could only get in Canada like bagged milk. I got a lot of perplexed stares.
