I haven't kept up with news on rentals, but it appears, here anyway, that rents are getting jacked up. I was under the impression that there were laws in place to keep rent increases at a small fixed rate.

These days, rents look to be higher than a mortgage in some cities.

Thank you! I’m annoyed but at least it was something easily fixed and I realised as soon as it happened. A mistake I definitely won’t make again anytime soon

I'm not looking to rent anywhere, no. It's just all over the newspapers, along with inflation and housing prices in general.

Meanwhile, prices on everything are increasing seemingly exponentially. The bank's solution? Yeah, let's make living in a house more expensive!! That will help us all out, by cooling down inflation. It's like something I heard years ago - "We're not gonna raise your taxes, just gonna lower your income".

Guys I just had to sit at a table with some man at dinner (a loud moustached guy in his sixties) and I had to listen to his story about how he was stuck at an airport once and an employee was rebooking his flight to the next day. 'And she asked me if I had somewhere to stay so I said, 'are you inviting me to your house' hehehehehehe'. And that set the tone for the rest of the evening, This guy was just a constant stream of bad and/or inappropriate jokes. It's a miracle I didn't suffocate

Oh and when he wasn't telling his awful jokes he was either bragging or namedropping fancy people
