I joined sputnik because I wanted a decent indie forum but I left after reading comments like:

"The Moon and Antarctica is overproduced garbage"
"Nick Drake is for wannabe indie kids"
"Pavement is the best band ever"

It's all to do with the number of other sites that link to yours, the words that form the link, and the overall content of the page containing the link.

Go to Search Engine Marketing Services - Marketleap: Trust, Search, Succeed and use the link popularity check for an indication of how it works.
