For instance, I love exercising, but I generally do it alone, because I find that where most people congregate to exercise is generally a place that is set up to congratulate a few and laugh at others. I don't really enjoy this or find it beneficial to the over all health of society.

But it's not vain when you start threads asking why people are fat? Considering most people work their asses off already to make ends meet, it should be understandable that they don't have the luxury of taking the time to excerise. And it shouldn't be considered a bad thing that not everyone gets their kicks from physical exercise.

I'm pretty sure it's common knowledge, and doctor recommended that exercise be a vital part of your weekly activity. The fact is that it doesn't matter whether you enjoy exercise or not. You feel called to do it by your body. You're hesitant at first, and then it's not bad once you get into it. I'm just putting it out there that I think a lot of people feel repressed from exercising and generally feeling good.

My favorite thing about the original post's reasons for fatness is none of them is the fault of the over-eater.

Predator 05-04-2008 12:21 AM

Of course it isn't the fault of the over-eater. Nobody is capable of causing themselves harm. When you buy coffee, you shouldn't expect it to be hot. So when you spill it in your lap, its only natural to sue the vendor for not advising you that its hot. I think we should sue god for not putting a warning label on us saying that we would get fat if we eat to much. And if I whack off thinking about my sister, its her fault for being hot.

Miltamec Soundsquinaez 05-04-2008 01:51 AM

I did say that in some cases it's their fault. why don't you just close it back up, you fat bastards. Nobody's going to see my point, that we are a very oppressive society, because your reason 'oh well, I don't do that, and none of my friends do that, so it must be true of every other area in the U.S. and the world,' Maybe though, someone out there knows what I mean, and they realize that I am willing to help them by doing absolutely nothing. My point here is that if we leave people the f*ck alone, they will be better off. But we don't have a law about leaving people the f*ck alone. Someone can get right up in your face, and cuss at you, and be a total d*ck, and isn't breaking any laws. And because people no longer have any sense of moral decency, the foundation is starting to crack.

I thought some of you might find this interesting. John Schneider talks about being the fat kid and how someone sitting him down and saying "you're not going to be an actor if you're fat" motivated him to be skinny.

Here's that bit:

Quote:

SCHNEIDER: Nine in the morning. He said, you know, you're really fat, John. You're fat. And I said, so look, everybody -- there's a lot of people around here. You know, there's not many Franco Columboes (ph) at Six Flags. So, everybody's fat. And he said, yes, but you tell me you want to be an actor. You tell me you want to be...

KING: Oh, you did want to be an actor.

SCHNEIDER: I started when I was eight years old. So, you tell me you want to be this person that's on television and the movies. How many fat people -- this is 1976 -- how many fat movie stars can you name? And I'd go hmmm. And he said, and let's face it, you already played all the Zero Mostel (ph) roles. In theater you can, because I had done, "A Funny Thing Happened on The Way To The Forum."

Right, people don't really do it to look good...

Incidentally I'm about 20 pounds underweight and exercise regularly...;)
