I've actually met quite a few interesting folks who work at Hot Topic. I had a long convo with this extremely frustrated looking punk chick that worked there about Smashing Pumpkins and how much she hated emo kids.
It was sort of funny.
Most of the employees consider the people who shop there douchebags.
That's a little ironic... and fairly true.

A job is a job, sometimes you're not given much choice in what's available and what you want to do personally, especially in times like this where you're lucky enough to even get a job.

True, a lot of times people work at a place simply because they want money and not because they think the place is cool.

As for me, I've gotten some clothing from the store, but never bought any music.

Youre not going to tell me that their employees really hate their jobs, I mean I'm Hot Topic only hires a certain kind of person. White, pale, tattoos, black clothes, black nail polish, facial piercings. Youre never goanna see someone without any of these traits working there, at least I never have.

I've seen tons of people there that haven't had any of those traits. Obviously you don't shop at Hot Topic often enough. But that's fine, I'm not telling you to shop there more often.

And about the jobs, the customers should NEVER get in the way of the job.

At my job, I've had people flip out and curse at me, to the point where I was almost crying, but I've also had customers write amazing things about me to the managers. If I based my job on the bad customers, I wouldn't have a job. And in this economy, a job is a good thing to have.

I think I would rather work in Hot Topic then McDonalds. Equally depressing, but I could pretend to like Metro Station for a few hours a week more easily then pretend to eat meat.
Sucky grammer again.

They had really cute Disney couture totes online a while back. I didn't buy any because they were overpriced, much like everything else they sell. I don't really go there. There's a better store called Black Fly in the local mall that sells more psycho/rockabilly stuff, more my style.
