And when you're from a place you can probably pick up nuances that someone who isn't from there would never even notice, like the difference between a Detroit accent and Ann Arbor accent or something. I know with my home state of Massachusetts I'm usually able to tell the difference in accent between north shore and south shore accents, but I doubt the difference is as noticeable to someone who isn't from there.

lol, especially me! I cant tell the difference sometimes between Australia and England.
I'm horrible with recognizing and imitating accents.
I think I just don't notice most of the time, I focus more on the actual language, analyzing it in my head, and keeping my nerves down because of my social anxiety. lol.
