Posture, grandstand, make speeches without making any kind of committment one way or the other, mention the spread of freedom, convey our disappointment....Don't worry, we'll do plenty.

I am so sick of people being cynical of America just because our government is fuller of louder twits then the rest.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

People just hate America because we are a super power that isn't afraid to boast.

Seriously, the American Revolution beats any war ever fought. The people of the country agreed to fight the government for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Too bad we don't believe in those anymore.

I want to be perfectly clear JJJ, I have many American friends who I chat with regularly online and they can't stand your government either. They see the loss of freedoms your constitution was written to protect, and realize that something major is wrong with the system as it stands now. The group of idiots running my country are completely useless as well, I have even less respect for them than your elected officials. However the US is such a major force for good or bad in the world there is no way to hide a failed foreign policy anymore. The whole party system as it stands now is a failure, they are more interested in patronage and listening to lobbyists than doing the job they are supposedly elected to do, which is to represent the people and protect their freedoms.

The last 2 energy secretaries from the Bush administration that visited my province both stated, "I didn't realize how much oil WE had up here...", WTF,,,it is not the US's oil it is our natural resource, and yet the way they swaggered around you would have thought we were a new state. When we tried to tell our local government to build refineries here and create a broader infrastructure the CEO of Exxon said that if we did that it would be the start of a trade war with the states. Excuse me,,,what office does he hold to say something that ridiculous, and yet a few phone calls later and presto, refineries being upgraded in the US and nothing done here, where the resource could insure a brighter future for us for years to come, after all the oil will be gone in a few decades so we should have the right to decide how to manage it ourselves. So I am not in anyway anti-American towards the people of your country, but I have lost all respect for the current regime, and the greedy corporations that support it. And again, my contempt for our useless twats here and in our federal government is even greater than the disappointment I have in your's, but for better or worse what the US does affects the whole world, which is why there are such strong emotions about this subject.

People, institutions, businesses, etc. who have massive potential will always be criticized by others for not doing the right thing every second. Happens all the time and it's a part of life...if you can't change it no point in trying.
