You can't really teach confidence...it's something you sort of find on your own. But as for some general pointers...

1. SMILE. Not after you're already hammered. I had a kind of fucked-up childhood so it was really hard for me to "get the message" -- girls want to be with happy guys. It's a strong index of mental health.

2. Pickup/chat up lines are TERRIBLY overrated. They make guys look desperate.

3. Don't descend to beating yourself up every time you swing and miss. There's only about 3.5 billion more fish in the sea.

I finally got a freakin job. It involves computer hardware and software programming so I get to put my degree to some good use and it's only a ten minute drive from my place. It's not permanent but I could be offered a full contract after nine months. Yay.

@Loathsome Pete, I used to rob pens the whole time in the last place I worked :D I'll try my very best not to do it this time.

Another tip I may add is if you ever feel like you don't have enough to say it doesn't mean you are not creative or can't think on your feet. It simply means you need more practice speaking your mind openly and being comfortable saying what your gut tells you to say.

If you are like me and aren't the most intelligent quick thinker usually speaking openly is your only option. Which is a good thing anyways. Honestly usually leads to the most healthy satisfying relationships and those nice organic conversations that are easy and fun.

(on a side note if your gut is constantly telling you dirty things that are inappropriate and horrible you may wanna disregard this advice)

Does anyone use pickup lines not for the use of humour? Intentionally going overboard with them can be good sometimes, as long as she knows you're joking.
