In high school you were...?

Actually was brought up in my Political Science class today. We got talking about what stereotype everyone fit in there high school days. As usual i thought it was a pretty funny topic, considering some people take it VERY seriously.

I guess just vote and say a little something, im curious to see the answers. Ill try my best to make a poll.

Mostly goth, to be honest, but in the end of highschool I was considered a hippie.

I was chill in HS. A bit of a bad-ass rebel and a bit of a druggie. I was smart too, I got a 30 on my ACT's. I was just a little bit of everything, just bein' me.

WWWP 09-09-2008 11:10 PM

My high school had 100 kids. We didn't really have social groups. Most everyone was out for sports and most everyone got along. During school hours, anyway. But I was called a hippy on more than one occassion, and I loved my art classes, so I guess the artist one.

Wow. That is one small high school. I think my graduating class was something like 650.

[MERIT] 09-09-2008 11:18 PM

Mine had around 75.

My graduating class had 25.

ProggyMan 09-09-2008 11:53 PM

Mine will have a bit over a thousand.

Fruitonica 09-10-2008 12:33 AM

Yeah, my year 12 only has 65 or so people in it so everyone knows each other by now and there aren't really any cliques.

If I had to pick I'd just say nerd, sans the connotations of being anti-social, because I'm quiet and fairly smart.

FireInCairo 09-10-2008 03:53 AM

im nearly out of that hell hole now
actually its not that bad

i was a drugged out metal kid (years 7-9)

now im an artsy kind (10-12)
and intend to stay that way

Why??? I keep picturing you as that one kid everyone loves.

WaspStar 09-10-2008 05:16 AM

None of the above. I walked around with headphones on and ignored all the other kids because they were all jags.

Piss Me Off 09-10-2008 05:28 AM

Yeah i wasn't really any of those. I was pretty quiet and could get on with most people if i wanted to but chose not to because most of them were wankers. Most of my friends were out of school which didn't help. I'll just say Nerd despite having some of the worst grades, i just kept to myself.

I actually got this from our Member Picture gallery from when I was in high school a few years back. Ha ha a coheed shirt, jeans, and flip flops. Graduated 5th in my class and smoked more pot then than I do now.

Tomorrow 09-10-2008 11:08 AM

I was more of a rebel in those days. During my senior year I spent more time in Saturday detention than actual class, mostly just trying to make up all the hours I skipped so I could graduate.

So yeah, rebellious and retarded.

NSW 09-10-2008 12:31 PM

None of the above. I was just biding my time until I could get out of there...didn't bother with too many friends or clubs or what not.

anticipation 09-10-2008 04:33 PM

i don't really find high school to be the emotionally turbulent scandalfest that is usually hyped to be. i've got a graduating class of about 1200 and there are cliques but they rarely ever create conflicts.

i guess you could say that i hang out with "arty"-stoners, but i have friends who are jocks and gearheads too. around here, if you're not a **** and got a good head on your shoulders then people will accept you.

ADELE 09-10-2008 04:57 PM

In school I was a stoner.
Get this, I haven't had a toke since bloody Christmas and I can't take it no more. Even then it was only a bit over Chritsmas period. A whole year and more now without a doobee other then that.
Booze I am better off without and never really liked it but I love a doobee.

Me Can't take it no more.
I am like a fish without water.

sweet_nothing 09-10-2008 05:08 PM

Atist type or rebel either/or. My graduatting class has about 6,000.

Yeh high school is pretty cool. Freshman year was just awful, last year was decent, but this year is cool.

Surell 09-10-2008 05:10 PM

I'm in it now, and stuff.

RoemerMW 09-10-2008 08:29 PM

I'm a high school senior this year, in a graduating class of a bit less than 200, assuming dropout rates stay the same. I'm pretty much a full-out nerd (math team, brain bowl, obsessively into film and filmmaking, all advanced classes, constantly reading, been single my whole life, etc.)

You sound like the perfect candidate for that show "Beauty and the Geek". I'll bet you could pull in some major ass on that show.

'09!

But yea, I don't really fit any of these, I reckon there are some missing.

lucifer_sam 09-10-2008 10:19 PM

I really didn't care enough about high school that much to confine myself within a clique.

Meph1986 09-10-2008 10:41 PM

The loner......:(

littleknowitall 09-11-2008 08:44 AM

None of the above, I was just....normal. :)

Ditto.

But uh. I'm the one who rants philosophy in place of conversation, and who reads in the bathroom stall during lunch... and uh, the janitor took me out for a cigarette today. What's that make me?

sleepy jack 09-11-2008 04:21 PM

Thank you.

And, this isn't word association ;)

WWWP 09-11-2008 04:24 PM

I was voted Most School Spirit.
I'm wearing the shirt I won, actually.

Sgt Pepper 09-11-2008 04:28 PM

Those things were mostly a joke in my high school. No matter who you voted for, all the "popular" people were in charge of the yearbook, so they picked their friends to be in it. If you weren't friends with them, you didn't get to be on the ballot of "most popular", "best smile", "Funniest Laugh" Or the like.

That's funny, it's the exact opposite at my school. Only about 10% or less of the people in charge of our yearbook are considered popular. I help make our yearbook, and we make sure that everyone has a decent amount of pictures in the book, and the ballot's are pretty fair.

WWWP 09-11-2008 05:39 PM

I was really friends with everyone. It's hard not to be in such a small school.

Expletive Deleted 09-11-2008 07:02 PM

I hung around with the artists (seriously, like all my friends go to art school or small liberal arts schools now) and hipsters (:o:).

devilz advocate 09-11-2008 08:13 PM

I was popular when I was in high school.
We always do stupid things in school that
teachers always send us to the
guidance office.

Seltzer 09-11-2008 11:02 PM

My high school wasn't strong on cliques - I guess you could have loosely divided everyone in our year into the druggies group, the petrolheads, the sports players and the large general group. I mainly used to hang out with the general group, but I was friends with people from all groups.

I suppose I was seen as a rebellious nerd. Nerd because I was pretty smart, I did well at school and I like computers (and gaming). Rebellious because I had little regard for rules/conventions and crossed a few legal boundaries back then.
