Ouch, you spilled coffee on a $40,000 book.

damn...proved me wrong. good luck to ya, hopefully you can break that other record.

but yeah, that's gotta hurt that a year or two of college tuition was thrown out after some coffee stains.

I would have kept it...people buy grilled cheese sandwiches for thousands of dollars off ebay, a HP book with a spill on it would probably still get you a few grand.

I know it's worth a fair amount because there are only 500 copies in print (actually 499, my family had two, but I spilt coke on it and we had to throw it away).

Anyhow I was wondering if anyone knew where a good place to sell it would be and get as much as possible? I don't think craigslist or ebay is right for this.

I still have two, in fact I have every one of the books hardcover first edition. In 50 years...
Edit: Holy ****, nevermind.

I would start by contacting the auction house that sold the one in the article you quoted. Tell them what you have and ask their advice on how to proceed. They've already sold one or 20 grand, they should be able to give you some direction. A bit of legwork should be able to get you the contact info.
