It annoys me when people simply quote someone and add a punctuation mark to the post. If you have nothing to add except "what he/she said", but can't even find the energy to add those three words to the post, then please just don't.

I like that people have opposite opinions to mine.

swim 02-22-2009 04:47 PM

Threads like this

Edit: It doesn't make sense anymore because it's been replied to now but, threads with a decent amount of thought put into them that don't get pissed on. Yea, those suck.

Considering it seems only a handful of people on this board listen to hip hop on a regular basis it's not surprising that a thread in that forum could go unnoticed.

My biggest pet peeve is the standard 'rap isn't real music' statement that comes through every few weeks.

TheBig3 02-24-2009 05:43 PM

yeah but you have to understand why their saying that.

I think the vast majority of people are agreeing rap is music. I think a small minority are openly saying rap doens't count because of some cursory understanding of western musical theory.

You know they don't actually hear rap and think its a chair or cooking instructions, what they hear is ever social/cultural auxillery associated and they react.

probably when anyone makes a thread in the hardcore/emo forum and the only respones we usually get are "oh yeah they rock" or "yeah i'm not too into them", and that's it.

it truly is a deadzone.

I'm a noob and I would say I have diverse tastes. Although joining this forum has definately helped expand my tastes.

Many people at my school are really bad with that. More then half the people I have come across believe that rap isn't music. What really bothers me is people generalizing the whole genre with the whole "its only about sex, drugs, and gangsters" because the only rap/hip-hop they have most likely seen is the ****ty MTV stuff.

How most our so called residential wordsmiths fail miserably to capitalise and/or spell correctly their own songwriting thread titles.

It really pisses me off when people say **** like top 200 guitarists, or 50 coolest m.f'rs it's too many and not everyone does it, :confused:is that thread rule bending? 5 or 7 should be the limit. I vote for seven.

When people use poor punctuation and sentence structure forcing me to think waaaayyy too hard about what your post says. :)

The mods. I just hate all of them.

TheBig3 03-02-2009 08:48 PM

go for the easy answer? i think thats what gets me most of all.

posters would rather be safe than interesting, or god forbid, wrong.

i was going to post a sarcastic rebuttal with english slang, but while i was using an english slang glossary i noticed there are 23 different phrases/words with "arse" in them and i figured it would be insult enough to point out how articulate these people really are

Considering how people get ripped for being wrong it's hardly surprising.

For being wrong?

What like radiohead sucks?

Opting for boring is always suprising to me.

Zarko 03-04-2009 12:50 AM

It pisses me off when people are too lazy to finish their lists/threads... Don't start them if you ain't close to finishing or at least finished a fair proportion... Its annoying to read a good 4-5 posts about 100 underrated voices or a solid top 100 list through the first 12 albums, and then to never see the thread again for months.

Of course I am guilty of it too :p:

FaSho 03-04-2009 02:48 PM

^Guilty. I have about 4 threads I need to finish.

Not even, I mean often times factual inaccuracies are dealt with pretty harshly.

Alfred 03-04-2009 08:06 PM

Yeah, I find that, which is why I (usually) refrain from getting into arguments. I'm known to be wrong.

Well thats almost running counter to my point. If you're taking the safe answer, you're likely just repeating facts, or knowing them well enough to speak against them.

a la, everyones hatred of Zeppeling because of taurus.

This.

People wont all like the same thing so I get a giggle out of people who slit their wrists over someone who doesn't like what they like.

Someone told me today that Def Leppard sucked so I just sat back in my seat and said nothing.

I'll let Joe Elliott sort that one out. He has super powers that people just seem to underestimate.
