Ugh that's another terrible one. Those are the people for whom music will never be anything more than a social accompaniment.

"Oh, Music Banter, it really pisses me off when people..."
...post duplicate threads. ;) Catch my drift?

Doesn't necessarily piss me off, but...

I'd like to see more reviews of albums that most people haven't heard yet. OK Computer reviews tend to get slightly derivative after the 167th person's put their two cents in.

But it DOES piss me off that people still respond to these reviews in significant volume and ignore everything that's more obscure than Abbey Fucking Road.

The fact that crap such as Katy Perry actually get above 100 posts.

make threads like these, or when other people respond to them even when they find them inane

Irony at its best

I have posted about 20 different thigs in the "deepest musical secret" thread...

b)say the above and then go on to list a handful of current chart acts, and because one is emo and one is indie they say 'see, pretty diverse'.

Guilty. Read my introduction thread. I wasn't the smartest when I joined.

Don't be too elitist, though. It's not like every newcomer to the boards are newcomers to music. ;)

I think cynicism is overrated here - just like everywhere else on the internet.

I don't exactly lose sleep over it, but when people use this smiley;

:band:

I mean, it's not like it adds anything to a post. It's just completely pointless and annoying.

Yeah, MB has quite a few pointless smilies (the baseball, basketball and soccer ball all come to mind) and yet there's no puking smiley which I'd think would be much more useful, especially if, say, Limp Bizkit come up in conversation.
