That's so gorgeous! I really need to get my butt overseas someday to see it in real life.

I mean, I'm sure like any place you could probably find some okay things to do there but for your first time visiting the US there are many, many places I could think of that would be much more interesting to visit.

yeah i know  my friend has told me all about it but i could go to america & do something, dunno what yet. and visit her when im passing through, couldnt go across the pond & not visit one of my greatest friends :(.
i would pass through kansas or make her go somewhere to meet me :D ive been told its very very flat.

Although right now I'm 'holidaying' at a friend's house in Christchurch, New Zealand and am due back in Aus at the beginning of October! So hello New Zealand MBers  I know there are a few of you.

Christchurch is a lot closer to Vanilla than it is to me - I've never been that far south. Btw, I think I've asked you this before, but have you been to Shepparton? I have some family friends from there, though I think one of them is living in Melbourne now.

Heh. Well at least you know what you're getting yourself into.

If you do end up visiting her I'd seriously recommend trying to meet her somewhere else. Kansas isn't really somewhere you'd pass through on your way to anywhere unless you wanted to take a very long trip. It's about a 24 hour drive west from New York and about the same distance east from California to give you an idea of the distance involved.

Easily. Even driving down to London, back to Edinburgh and then back down to London a second time would be a shorter drive.

Colorado's pretty cool, especially if you like hiking and skiing. Lots of beautiful scenery up in the mountains there. :)

you should go. i love edinburgh. it has cute little cobblestone streets & everything, almost everywhere you go theres a piece of history. we could swap places :D. id love to stay in america, never been before, i might go soon, it would be hassle going as my friends would rather go to somewhere in europe (cheap flights), than to america, cos the flights are quite dear. i have reason to go now though, a friend of my is doing a football scolarship over in kansas.

My Grandma grew up in Edinburgh and vows to take me there soon on a trip.

It really is a beautiful city, I wish I got to spend more than three days there. Old Town is by far one of the coolest places I ever visited during my time in the U.K. and of course Edinburgh Castle was far better than the two castles I saw in Wales (Conwy and Caernarfon). If you like a lot of old monuments and history then it really is a great city to visit.
