Christchurch is a lot closer to Vanilla than it is to me - I've never been that far south. Btw, I think I've asked you this before, but have you been to Shepparton? I have some family friends from there, though I think one of them is living in Melbourne now.

Heh. Well at least you know what you're getting yourself into.

If you do end up visiting her I'd seriously recommend trying to meet her somewhere else. Kansas isn't really somewhere you'd pass through on your way to anywhere unless you wanted to take a very long trip. It's about a 24 hour drive west from New York and about the same distance east from California to give you an idea of the distance involved.

Easily. Even driving down to London, back to Edinburgh and then back down to London a second time would be a shorter drive.

Colorado's pretty cool, especially if you like hiking and skiing. Lots of beautiful scenery up in the mountains there.

My Grandma grew up in Edinburgh and vows to take me there soon on a trip.

It really is a beautiful city, I wish I got to spend more than three days there. Old Town is by far one of the coolest places I ever visited during my time in the U.K. and of course Edinburgh Castle was far better than the two castles I saw in Wales (Conwy and Caernarfon). If you like a lot of old monuments and history then it really is a great city to visit.
