If i'm in a relationship I wouldn't go hanging around other girls , texting them and then hide the texts from my girlfriend , there are certain ways you should act if you are with someone out of respect for them and this isn't one of them regardless if it's innocent or not. I think it depends on whether it's a new move or a predictable one.
If homeboy is getting confronted with this for the first time after being in the relationship long enough to know his girls' moves, then you're right. It's suspicious.

But if she's normally defensive of her privacy, then interrogating her about it won't help anything.

You're right about respecting the relationship... But if homeboy never demanded that kind of respect in the first place, she probably doesn't even know she's crossing any boundaries.
