Murphy's is good, and I'd second the recommendation for Samuel Smith - their Oatmeal Stout is wonderful. However, stay away from anything the British call "bitters", which is what they call beer that is lightly carbonated, light on the alcohol, and has a uniquely bad taste (watered down guinness?). Besides, with all the wonderful American microbrewery's out there, you can have your cups full exploring those.
