I never caught on to the Yu-Gi-Oh craze, though my little brother is into it.

I just have to ask the same question that my parents asked about Pokemon. What in the hell is this sh*t about?

I used to watch the Yu-Gi-Oh! cartoons as a kid and loved them, and then I was bought the card game for christmas/birthday or something and it was alright. Never caught on like Pokemon did though. Pokemon was the ultimate example of peer pressure leading onto greatness. I loved that card game.

Those things were all over the schools back when we were doing GCSEs eh. I was much more into the games myself when I were a nipper! I think I only ever bought one pack of cards. Can't remember when it was - probably on one of our expeditions to Virginia or summat.

As you say, good times!

You guys must have been the older kids of the pokemon generation. Both fads fit into my childhood.

I was of the era where there were only 250-something pokemon and everyone could name all of them. We used to bring all of our cards to school with us every day, even though they were banned. Well, I say all of our cards, if you had a charizard there was no way you'd bring that.

I don't remember Yu-Gi-Oh being a fad at all when I was a kid... I too was of the Pokemon generation. We also used to bring all our cards to school, even though they were banned. Just recently I sold my whole bunch of cards from years ago on ebay for $200... score!
