Who is growing a beard?

Yes it's not one of my better threads and it's not Novembeard but surely someone else is cultivating a face garden too? My face is itching like fuck and I just want to moan and utter expletives in tandem with any fellow sufferers. anyone?

Guybrush 05-20-2009 04:36 PM

I'm sporting one which I'm trying to keep somewhat short and neat, but I've been close to just shaving it all off quite a few times now. My GF likes it and talks me out of it.

I grow a beard for the Hockey playoffs every year until my team is knocked out. My team the Red Wings, makes has made it to the semi-finals or beyond each of the last three years and has won the championship which involves winning 16 games 4 times in the last 10 full seasons, so I am used to the spring beard, mine still grows pretty fast and it is currently covering my entire face from my nose down about 2 inches long.

Keep the beard hammer, chicks dig it.

I saw we start a bearded men of MB club, tore, Lee you guys down?

Janszoon 05-20-2009 04:37 PM

I grew one last fall and have been keeping it kind of short since then.

Bad news for your thighs, his beard will be gone come Tuesday Night when the Wings sweep the Hawks away.

jackhammer 05-20-2009 04:49 PM

Only ten days so far but here is your progress report (apologies for the nostrils :D) :

Good looking boy, looks like a hockey player and part either Irish or Sweedish which is my mix so that's a good thing. The Hawks are a fine team (like you care) but too young. Tell him I said Patrick Kane needs to learn to stake back on turnovers...he'll know what I mean.

Kirby 05-20-2009 05:01 PM

I have a beard!

Haha.

As of Saturday, it's hard to see how much it is, because it's blonde.

I have never met your son ;) but my facial hair can be a little cantankerous for sure.

you know,...i do kinda care,...monty's taught me alot, and i did read hockey for dummies so that i'd understand alittle and not look like a complete dumbass

monty's parents are candian, though he grew up in oklahoma,......i also wont call him a boy, i did that once and got this big long lecture about him being a full grown man of 36,...whatever

he also agrees with what you say,...about the team bein young, though he's been a hawks fan so long i dont know that its a choice for him anymore,......plus i look stinkin cute in the jersey,.....but no really,...since i met him he's told me the same thing,....though he thinks in a few years they will be great,....who knows,...we'll see

why does he hate the redwings so much? if i ask, he just gets this look on his face

After being 'dumped' (of sorts) around Valentines Day I went on a "fuk girls" beard/hair growing spree for about a month, which is a P.R.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...07/beard-1.jpg

When I shaved it I had a little fun and shaved it into a handle bar mustache which I sported shortly. Then I temporarily rolled with the creepiest mustache around- teetering on Adam Morrison territory.

Thrice 05-20-2009 05:50 PM

Man, only a bit of time left before I can grow a connected beard! I got the stache, the burns and the chin piece, but they just wont connect yet :( I keep it all shaved up so I dont look like a fool, but it should be a nice fat beard by the time winter hits.

why the hell would you grow a beard at the START of summer?

the only time i grew one was when i stopped shaving between christmas of 2003 and when the snow stopped in 2004. almost 4 months of non-stop growth was 'interesting', it's something every guy has to do at least once just to see. then there's the awesomeness of all sorts of in-grown hairs when you finally shave it off.

either way, have fun not sweating all over your food come july. :p:

Quality man fuzz there :thumb:.

Seltzer 05-20-2009 06:10 PM

I've only grown a beard once and that was when I was working at a frozen foods wholesaler after finishing high school. And the extra foliage certainly helped with the low temperatures. :D

I doubt I could go back to it though - far too itchy... here's a pic anyway:

I totally agree! I don't know why but facial hair is just so...manly.

sidewinder 05-20-2009 06:42 PM

I've been sporting one since I went on vacation last summer. I always wanted to try, but felt the process would be too unprofessional for the work place. Not like I work in a law firm or something. Anyway it's not really thick so I have to keep it somewhat long to cover up the gaps between hairs, but not too long that I look like a hobo. If I pulled the hair straight it's maybe an inch long...but doesn't look it.

Dammit am I gonna have to post a picture now?

jackhammer 05-20-2009 06:47 PM

If only my music threads were as popular :(
