Invention. What you are looking at and typing over is only possible because of this tiny island.
The only invention I can think of is the English language. Other than that, it's all American ingenuity, from inventing & manufacturing the first typewriters, and even coming up with the horrible "Qwerty" layout fro the keybaord. The world's first computer was built in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania.
long story short: Bill Gates, Steve Job - American. Internet - American.

Unless your sipping Tea and eating Scones as you type I have no idea what you're talking about. Oh... wait a minute, the former is Indian and the latter is Scottish. sorry
Cheer up at least you have football and ...? Oh, a glorious history of planting British flags on other people's properties around the world.

The TV and internet was invented in Britain. End of.

That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard you say.

You think you wanna research that a little and maybe realize that both of those inventions weren't a "single invention", but the product of many different technological advances owed to different people (thus, different countries respectively)?
Try figuring out what goes into making "the internet" work, then track down who came up with those technologies and breakthroughs. You'll be surprised.

I won't sit here and argue with you about it... but you need to do some research. I'm appalled at you, Lee.

the tv was invented by a scotsman
"John Logie Baird (1888-1946)
Invented Television

Born in Helensburgh, he produced the first TV picture in October 1925. Sent the first images across the Atlantic in 1928. Started first TV station with broadcasts for BBC. Also involved in fibre-optics, radio direction finding and infra-red night viewing."

Yes the first computer was built in the US but the guy who invented the Internet, Tim Berners-Lee, is British. So the Internet is a British invention.

He didn't invent the Internet, he invented hypertext and it's use on the internet to create the world wide web. The internet itself had been around for decades earlier.

It's fair to say he shaped the internet to what it is today, but he didn't invent it.

Again, he was merely one of the people involved in particular aspects of the creation of what was, essentially, a collaborative effort.
An American invented the dissector tube, which is the basis of all televisions..
Vladimir Zworykin, a Russian living in the US, is credited with the iconscope...

Do you see what I'm getting at?
The television, AND the internet, are both owed to the genius of several different countries... And honestly, I don't even like to take it that far... it's owed to several different PEOPLE.
Any entire country trying to take the credit for something one of their people did is ridiculous.

People need to let go of this useless territorial birth-right bullshit and start paying homage to the individuals who actually made things happen, not themselves for just living in the same place and speaking the same language.

Someone please explain why this troll is still around?

Anyways, it's always good before you lay out an insult, especially one that has stereotypical themes, to get your facts right first so that you don't look like a complete idiot.

Nobody knows who invented the first typewriter, so if you have some information then don't put it on here I'm sure specialists in that field would love to know more than us.

As for the computer? You may have heard of a guy named Charles Babbage. If not then you don't know what you're talking about anyway. But, if you do, then you may want to read about him and where he was from.

And nobody invented the English language, it comes from over two thousand years of history.
