Lol boys arguing about sports. I'd like to see American football guys try getting past Kiwi rugby players without padding. Or female players for that matter, those ladies come in bulk.
|
Well said Vanilla. New Zealand rugby players
|
|
pads would not be an issue at all and it makes no sens why so many ppl think it would be

Most of the players in the league aren't even American. There's even a few Japanese ones, I think. Baseball is hug over there. |
'american' sports have grown rapidly.
football will likely never catch on elsewhere. there's a canadian league and the nfl has started playin games in london, but i dont think they are increasin the fan base all that much. baseball however in the last 20 years has been absolutely booming in hispanic countries and has been big in japan as well. japan is like a step down from pro baseball here though, but it still seems to be pretty big. everytime a japanese player comes to the usa there seems to be a lot of fanfare and media attention so it mus tbe a big deal. sidenote - ichiro was absolutely incredible and yu darvish is a beast basketball has really been growing in europe. places like spain and argentina have a big basketball prescense and every yr the nba draft is half filled with euro players. euro players are soft and usually dont do well, but i hope the game can change over time to allow for more successful euros and foreign players. theres some great young guys in the league right now sports rule |
Canadian football is a bit different than American football though. Different number of downs, bigger ball, and I think some of the rules are different.
|
theres some slight differences, not much tho. its still basically the same thing. it's a more offesnive friendly game in canada. if nfl played by those rules, every team might score every possession. i think it's to make up for the talent difference between the two leagues. but there have been a couple nfl players who played in canada. cameron wake comes to mind.

oh i know, cameron wake was an interesting guy. he was a dissapointment in college but an insane athlete. so he went to the cfl, absolutely dominated for 2 years, now is a pro-bowler for miami.
flutie is the guy i know best from the cfl and i assume most of the cfl are guys who were good in college but not good enough for the nfl. they actualyl televised a few cfl games here before the nfl season started and it was cool to watch, very enjoybale |

It's usually played by people who want to be American though. |
oh yea, deng is awesome. he went to duke for one year and then went to the nba and i thought he would suck but he is a really valuable player. probably gonna get a big payday after this season
part of nba's exansion is, of course, marketing. i think i read a few years back that there was a poll in china and michael jordan was like the 3rd most recognizable name and he hadnt even played in years. jordan was the uprising of marketing for the league the other part is the success of foreign players tony parker - france nowitzki - germany ginobili - argentina yao ming - china etc |
I've heard of Ming, but I think that was only because Mayweather made some comments about him which some people thought were racist.
|
yao ming was one of the greatest things to happen to the nba, ever. he took the nba and made it a fixture in china which is a gigantic market that was previously untapped.
yao was pretty tiny http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tGNWlYGhXr...d-yao-ming.jpg unfortunately injuries cut his career really short :( |

I just clicked on a site on Google and before it loaded I was asked which language I'd prefer. Beside the language names was a country flag and next to English was the Canadian flag. I was amused.

are vitamins complete quackery? like, multivitamins.
|

They give such a small amount of the vitamins that you need. you might as well get the vitamins that you need through eating different foods but something is better than nothing so if your diet isn't that great you might as well take them. |
This is not really spam, just a really creepy observation on how creepy guys can be.
Yesterday, my brother & I took my niece to see "cloudy w/ a chance of meatballs." I swear to you, not only were we one of the few adults that had a kid w/ them, there were a lot, A LOT, of grown men who were there by themselves, that **** creeped me the **** out. One of them tried to play cute at the end of the film & try to start a conversation with my niece, I told him to find someone his own age to talk to. I mean what is an adult male doing watching a kids film by himself, only the that comes to mind is pervert. |

ass napkin is a pretty bad troll but i do agree with him here. grown men who like little kid stuff is creepy (see my little pony brony weirdos for reference)

:offtopic: for a sec
So I'm watching " Sleepy Hollow" (great show by the way) the only thing is, the lead female actress Nicole Beharie. I really don't understand her casting she's not leading lady material, she's short, her looks are average & her acting capabilities are ok at best, I just don't get it. This is her: http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/N...hMqOmdA-hl.jpg |
My friend's name is Shohn (ghetto spelling of Sean), and I think he should change his last name to Freud. Just say it out loud and it will all make sense.
|
I don't get it???
