Anyway, on-topic, I love a lot of hipster bands. For reference, let's just say almost all of the ones Boo Boo listed minus the post-rock (a genre I cannot stand).

Joe C hates Flaming Lips, Wilco, New Pornographers and so on. So as far as I know he only likes the really awful indie.

There's really no excuse for any reasonable human being to like Sebadoh.

I haven't even heard of Sebadoh. Joe's a fun guy though, and he's a valuable asset in late-night dddchats.

Of course, we literally never discuss music in those.

I blocked him from my buddy list so he'd stop f*cking inviting me to your chats. Every time I turned down an invitation another one from him would pop up. He hounds me to join the chat, and when I do join what happens? I have nothing to contribute because all you want to talk about is gay butt sex.

You only talk about music when you're obviously trying to troll the sh*t out of me.

I can take being made fun of as long as it's out of good-naturedness, but you guys just have some messed up obsession with getting under my skin by any means necessary, we can never have a fun, decent discussion. I have sincerely grown sick of it.

Thankfully, unlike DDD this is a forum where mods actually do their freaking job.

Well, I rant about how "the hipsters are out to get me" a lot and some people here want to attribute that to some serious psychological problem.

I admit to having an ego problem. I try to keep it in check on MB, but sometimes I just can't help myself. I want to stay in good terms with the members of this forum and not for things to end up in disaster like they did on DDD. So if people have a problem with me, I'd like to know, so I can try and improve on my more negative traits. Which I know, probably includes making threads like these. :laughing:

I was very different there than I am here, I pretty much turned into a troll once the site lost all sense of value as a music forum, which was a loooooooooong time ago. So I had a habit of trolling music polls.

It's waaaaaaaaay worse than MB as far as the indie kid population density goes.

Hopefully if I advertise DDD enough Captain Caveman will be compelled to start posting there and forget about this forum completely. :D

It was started by this guy who calls himself Lew. To post music related lists like 100 greatest guitarists among other lists, and eventually movie lists. They're not really good lists, just an excuse to boost traffic more than anything. I was one of the earliest members of the site, way back in 2004 around when it started getting really popular.

As the years went by, most of the original members left, but I stuck around. It got very dominated by indie kids, just about everyone is a mod now and nobody actually DOES anything, you could post 100 pages worth of goatse and tubgirl pictures and you probably won't even get banned if you're a popular enough member.

It's hardly a real music forum anymore. There's sections for every genre like with this forum but they're all dead except the one for indie and the music polls section, which is filled to the brink with retarded Radiohead polls as far as the eye can see.

It's a really awful website, why I've stuck around there so long I'll never know, it's embarassing at this point.

The reason I joined this forum in the first place was because I got banned from DDD for having a Hitler avatar (back when you could actually get banned for something), and so I found this forum and tried to start anew. Well I eventually got allowed back into DDD, and for a long time it was my #1 forum and this was #2.

And I dunno why, for the past few years it's been nothing but an annoyance, I can never have a decent conversation with anyone, I never learned anything, none of the posters got me into any new music, I gained nothing from my time there. All I did was argue with people and get personally insulted all the time.

I should have left way before I actually did. If I'm gonna waste my life on an internet forum, it might as well be one where I can actually talk to people without being bombarded with personal insults and unfunny 4chan memes.

God, that site is horrid. xD
