haha, honestly, it's overrated, after a while the novelty wears off, then it's pretty much no different from being underage.

I say Hell nah dont lower it. People are dumb as fugg anyways, we dont need even more kids doing that crap legally. Dont get me wrong I love to drink and such, but I dont get all ***ed out and kill people with my car. I know too many people that would easily though

blackTshirt 01-17-2005 11:59 PM

i don't give a f*ck, i don't enjoy drinking....but i do care about all those kids that are so curious and would try it just to be cool...i don't think lowering is a good idea, plus who stops you if you drink it at home? no one would know but your parents...so what?

MyWorld 01-18-2005 12:30 AM

I guess I don't care if it's lowered or not. I live in the US so it's 21 but if someone wants to drink they won't wait that long. Lowering it to 18 would be ok I guess, but it might mean more drunk teen drivers. I know kids, even little 13 and 14 year old kids start drinking and think they're so cool. I don't think it's cute though, it's not good to have kids develop drinking habits so early even if they can get away with it. I guess my main concern would be drunk driving but I don't think it would hurt to lower it a couple of years.

iv been drinking for some time now, and those who have spoken to me would know that i probably dont look like stopping anytime soon. seeing as the age here doesnt bother me, i have no beef with it. but i do think its stupid to-in australia anyway-turn 18 and then be able to legally drink and legally drive alone. there is talk in victoria(my state) about lowering the driving age to 17 so that there is experiance before alcohol becomes a big issue.

jibber 01-18-2005 04:13 PM

^ yeah, up here the driving age is 16, and a lot of people get their learners liscences when they're 14, so by the time they reach 18, a lot of people have been driving for 4 years.

Isn't it if your born in 1990 and on u can't get ur G1 till your 18 ...[in canada]

xEmochicKx 01-19-2005 06:25 PM

thats a new law
thank god i was born before

jibber 01-19-2005 06:34 PM

Yeah, luckily I don't have to worry about that since I got my liscence before then. I can't even imagine how annoying it would be not to be able to drive. Anyways back to drinking, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy partying and everything, but a lot of people make a really big deal about being able to go into bars and everything, and although it's a lot of fun at first, once the novelty wears off, it's just a regular part of going out, nothing too special. But I really don't think the drinking age should be lowered, 18 is completely reasonable, there are enough idiots drinking without adding a whole bunch of younger kids.
