It could be a number of things, but having a fresh driver install narrows it down a bit.

Try plugging the printer usb into a different plug on your computer. Might auto install drivers.

Hmmmmm the computer recognises the printer right?? (I assume it does)

You probably have it set on airplane mode.

Glad you got things working. I'm guessing you have a Win10 machine? I'm not here to proselityze but any reason you didn't want to get a Mac?

Macs are for people who don't care enough to learn Linux so they're still willing to settle for a ****ty computer.
