Brother have been around for decades. They're one of the top and most trusted names in laser printers. By the way, I checked back. It was 2018 but yeah, actual price was Euro 159. Actually Harvey Norman in Ireland today have a colour one for EUR 259 and a decent black one for 99.

And yes, mine scans, prints, copies and (if needed) faxes too.

They're not as big and bulky as they look. Heavy, yes, slightly larger than say an Epson inkjet. Quiet - just hums when printing and when not in use completely silent. Doesn't seem to get hot, though I make sure not to have mine up against any walls or anything. No paper jams so far after two years of use, have replaced the toner cartridge once (may have to again soon as I've recently printed almost a thousand pages). No issues with clarity; perfectly sharp, clear script and pictures with no fading, blurring, ink running, nothing.

If you decide to go for the colour version I would just point out that colour cartridges are a lot more expensive, though if you can afford it I expect the results would be stunning.

Yeah I'm thinking it would be nice to get a colour printer, I won't print in colour much but it's worth having the option.

The problem is that all of the reviews I'm finding are for models which aren't sold in Malaysia!

Meh, maybe the colour toners aren't that expensive on a quick look; I've never really checked it out that seriously. I would expect though that colour printing would use them up faster, and I certainly don't need one as all I print is text. Still if you want it go for it. I don't know whether or not colour lasers work on the same principle as inkjets, ie you have to have three or more cartridges (maybe plus black) and change them either all together or one at a time?

If they don't sell in Malaysia why not just import? Are the charges that high to get something shipped from say UK or America? How much are they selling laser printers for there, and what makes are they dealing in? What sort of prices you looking at?

I remember when a colour laser was the **** and nobody could afford one; you'd be talking easily two or three grand. So now they have come down seriously in price, but again, do you want to pay the extra for something you may never or seldom use?

I've been dealing with sending raw EPL2 to thermal printers at work for a while now. I'm ****ing sick of printers bro.

Need some good tech advice here.
A long, long time ago (but not in a galaxy far far away) I wrote some stuff using Lotus Word Pro. Recently I went back to that writing and was working on it. I was able to reinstall the program and use it. Now though I have upgraded to Windows 10 and the program won't install.

So my question is this: is there any way to temporarily install Windows 7 on my PC without it impacting on my current OS? Note, I do NOT want to dual boot. This is simply a one-off, to allow me to get into the prog, copy the files and convert them, and then uninstall Win 7, but I don't want to do it if afterwards the system is looking for Win 7 and won't run Win 10, or if it causes any issues with my current OS.

So, any advice?

If you do a clean install of Win7, you should be able to 'upgrade' to Win10 with no issues.

As far as that Lotus software, there's some interesting info here regarding installing it through Safe Mode as well as a few other attempts:

What a pita though. I hope you have all your data files backed up.

Have you looked into free conversion online? LWP to DOC/DOCX?

https://cloudconvert.com/lwp-to-doc

If you have a Windows 7 disc, you could get free hypervisor software (like VirtualBox), and then install Windows 7 on a virtual machine. If you've got your LWP files on a USB stick - you could access that from within the Windows 7 virtual machine. Doing all this would be more of a pain than simply finding an online service that converts them.
