Is it just me or does twat sound kinda innocuous compared to cunt? I always felt twat was close to "silly bugger", meaning not something you'd really use if you wanted to seriously insult someone. Cunt on the other hand is probably the most potent swear word in American-English, no? I think it's kinda funny seeing as how essentially they're supposed to have the same meaning.

I find both twat and cunt kind of silly and can frequently be heard doing a bad Scottish accent and calling people "coonts" when I'm driving. That said, yeah, I've heard it claimed before that "cunt" and "******" are the only truly taboo swears in American English. And yet the same MB filter that thinks gay is a bad word doesn't censor one of them. Guess which one.

I swear a lot to be honest. I used to swear even more frequently than I do now. I think i'm so trigger happy with swear words because I really don't see the big deal. This thread pretty much sums up my views on swearing, it's a little odd to say the least that seemingly in time it has been decided for us that "these" words are politically correct and shall have no stigma attatched to them and "these" words are bad and should not be spoken.

When it comes to being genuinely OFFENDED by swearing...is anyone here? I don't get this either. Fair enough, if i know for a fact that someone is offended by certain words that I may decide to use then i'll respect that and i'll try not to use them but thats not really because I understand why these people are offended at all, its just out of common decency and the fact that I would not wish to offend them when it would be just as easy not to.

Also, it's not like the filter does anything. There are ways to get around it
