The charver (or chav) pretty much has the worst dress sense as it is. Basically their rule is lets find something to put on that confirms my lack of education and more importantly my willingness to enforce my bad attitude on the world and let them suffer because of it. Between time spent hanging around at the bus stop intimidating old ladies, time spent hanging around at the nearest corner shop trying intimidate people into going inside for them to buy alcohol and cigarettes and starting shit with those who refuse and time spent intimidating people into going into said corner shop, buying them their chosen goods and then starting shit with them anyway i'm surprised that these people have any spare time to worry about a fashion sense.

Maybe that explains why, when putting their trousers on in the morning they TUCK THEM INTO THEIR SOCKS

^ I know chav is a british term but I've never really understood what it is and what subculture or person this term refers to? People who seem to lack education or culture? I really don't know! I think our equivalent term could be 'derro' or 'bogan' but I'm not sure.

Also, tucking pants into shoes is possibly one of the worst fashion mistakes ever, although I am guilty to doing this when 1) I am going to bed and it's cold, and nobody is going to see me anyway and 2) When I am hiking and I don't want any evil creepy crawlies getting up there. (And we have some pretty damn evil bugs over here).

Well, i would say that in both situations that is perfectly acceptable. Its when it seems to be done as a fashion statement that it confuses me.

Lack of education is not necessarily the perfect definition of a chav, as not everyone with a lack of education is a chav. I'm also not going to be so criticial of everyone with a lack of education as i'm not exactly a poster boy for sticking in at school!

As far as i'm aware a bogan is indeed your equivalent of a chav. Chavs supposedly originated in Sunderland, which is where i'm from which is of course a source of great pride for me. That's also why i may refer to them as charvers as thats what we call them but i just get sick of explaining that so here i may just use the term chav.

Dressing as above is not enough to be a chav, you have to have the attitude also. Chavs are just complete wasters. Intimidation of people around them and strangers on the street is their thing and it seems to me that you can never be accepted into chav culture unless you've been slapped with an ASBO.

I always see the chavs in my little neighbourhood hanging around at the shops or at the bus stop. They usually ask me to buy them cigarettes or cheap cider and when i refuse i get griefed for it. Telling them to piss off doesn't bother me but one day i'll get my head kicked in for it. The fact that all of them are younger than me won't matter either as chavs can't fight one on one. Whats the point in having a gang if you aren't gonna use it to your advantage?

So, im not being too criticial and not placing too much importance on the lack of education but i have to wonder, if you are educated and have a bright future then surely you can find better ways to spend your time.

I can't tolerate them in the real world, but they're better in the real world than the internet. I just look at them and think you utter twat.

But they're worse over the internet.

And chavs that decide to add you on Facebook just because you went to school and never spoke, and then pop up randomly on your status about football with their ****e irrelevant opinions.
