Machiavelli's Discourses, a book with translations of Plato's Euthrypo, Apology, Meno, Crito and Phaedo, a Routledge guide to Socrates, the David Tennant and Patrick Stewart RSC televised performance of Hamlet ... oh, and Joanna Newsom's new triple album.

Is that a band? I have a friend who's last name is Herzog and who has appreciation for old Danzig who may appreciate this shirt.

I bought a Gyro last night. It was scrumptious.

Beef or lamb? I use to think that gyros could only have lamb filling but then I went to a place that used beef and holy ****ing **** on the Virgin Mary is it better with beef.

sidewinder 04-08-2010 07:48 PM

Most places seem to have a lamb/beef combo, rather than strictly lamb. But given the choice, I'd go with lamb.

Most places have chicken, too! But that would be my third choice.

There's this amazing Greek restaurant in my hometown that throws the biggest portions of beef / chicken / lamb into there gyros. I swear each piece is almost the size of my big toe(s). They are also that generous with the chicken portions in a caesar salad.
****ty thing about the restaurant though, is that they close for three months during the summer holidays every year, to go visit family in Greece. :(

^^ God, i could do wth a beer!

Out of interest, what is that one?

sidewinder 04-14-2010 10:48 AM

I believe it says Dos Equis on the label. ;) I drank those quite often when I lived in Texas.

Mojo 04-14-2010 03:24 PM

Well I can see what it says on the label. :-P

I guess I should rephrase my question. Any good? :-P

TheCunningStunt 04-14-2010 04:00 PM

Cinema ticket and a pepsi. Oh and a met ticket home.

Alo 04-14-2010 04:42 PM

I bought a second-hand bike, my last one got stolen. It was the blatant choice, its make is ''trendy'', I will soon be king of the hipster hill.

Yes, it's wonderful. Best Mexican beer I've ever had (but I'm no expert). It's especially great with lime and salt. Mmmm...

Mojo 04-14-2010 05:49 PM

Lime and salt? You crazy woman.

NSW 04-14-2010 05:51 PM

You're allowed to do that to Mexican beer. Leave me alone!

TheCunningStunt 04-14-2010 05:52 PM

Sweet and sour chicken, BBQ rips, half chips half rice.

£10.10

Bargain. And she left me off with the 10p as well :D

NSW 04-14-2010 05:57 PM

NSW 04-14-2010 05:59 PM

I only put salt and vinegar on chips when I can be bothered. Getting it out the cupboard = effort.

So ketchup is the winner. Even though that requires effort as well, it's just essential.

Mojo 04-14-2010 06:08 PM

Salt, vinegar and ketchup = win.

Correct.

Although putting all 3 condiments on at once requires a lot of effort :( yeah I'm THAT lazy. At a restaurant though it's a winner.

Akira 04-14-2010 06:13 PM

There's only one king when it comes to chips:

Never tried it.

Mojo 04-14-2010 06:14 PM

Hmmm. Steak sauce would be good. Id probably rather forget the salt, vinegar and ketchup and just go for some mayo though before that.

NSW 04-14-2010 06:15 PM

EEEEwwwwwwwwww...mayo?

And your seriously gonna rag on me about my salt and lime in my beer?

TheCunningStunt 04-14-2010 06:16 PM

Never tried mayo either.

Mojo 04-14-2010 06:16 PM

Whats wrong with dipping chips in mayo? Better than salting up your beer.

Had you put the mayo in the beer though...

Akira 04-14-2010 06:16 PM

Mayo with chips is great, why the mayo stigma?
