Xmas Stocking Fillers

Post and share any ideas for last minute Xmas stocking fillers for friends and family.
No expensive gift ideas please. Keep it reasonable and practical.

I'll go first...Popsters - Coasters

Check out the clocks too.

sidewinder 12-09-2009 01:01 PM

Those are neat! I wish they showed different angles so you could see how they're made and how practical they would be, though.

But actually that's a bit pricey for me, with the dollar as weak as it is.

A lad at work brought a set in today. That's what prompted me to make the thread.
They're a quality product. Thick, non slip and have run out grooves same as a vinyl record. Come in a smart tin too.

And you're a cheapskate!

sidewinder 12-09-2009 01:19 PM

Haha, well the only reason I'm saying that is because this is about "stocking fillers". To me $30 (including shipping) is not a stocking filler. :p: The price is otherwise fair.

They sound cool though.

+81 12-09-2009 01:19 PM

I always get oranges in my stockings which is cool because I love oranges. Five bucks for a box/bag full.

These look great. I would've loved'em , if I ever found myself using coasters.

FETCHER. 12-09-2009 01:55 PM

Those coasters are awesome. You can get nice little things out of Boots that are perfect for a stocking filler :). Thats where I buy all mines :).

I already have some coasters like that:D. They have various faces such as Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, and others I can't remember.

We had those in Marching Band when we had to wait in between the awards and the performance itself.

i didnt know they made them anymore

i have a pair that my great grandfather gave to me from when he was in the war,...they are sterling silver and read 'made in occupied japan' on the bottoms of them,...very warn olive green velvet 'pockets'

i love them and have used them since i was 12,....

about 6 years ago, i found them in restoration hardware, they arent as nice as the old ones but the theory is the same,......and they make a great gift for anyone, no one wants to have cold hands

and you say you wouldnt want any on fire in your pocket, but its really not like an open flame,......they are fabulous

WWWP 12-09-2009 08:17 PM

I used to get a stocking full of assorted nuts until my family finally realized I was allergic. Now I get tangerines.

FadedMyxomatosis 12-15-2009 05:30 PM

I always like getting a few good albums or maybe a nice photography technique book.

Burning Down 12-15-2009 05:36 PM

I always get candy and gourmet hot chocolates. And each year there's a different assortment of cool stuff like a CD or sheet music - stuff that I'll actually use. Last year I had two stockings!

LoathsomePete 12-15-2009 05:39 PM

I use to get a copy of FHM during the family unveiling, then my dad would hand me a copy of Playboy when my step mum wasn't looking. Later, when I turned 18 I started getting cans of lager in my stocking, so that's what I've adopted, porn and beer.

CanwllCorfe 12-15-2009 06:56 PM

Perfume samples!
