It would have gotten around either way because he's famous.
I didn't say it justified it. I said there was no defending it. I just said that if it wasn't for Youtube and maybe the internet in general, we might not even know about it. I mean yeah, maybe it would have gotten around because he's famous but how can you be sure? I mean, without a video of it or some kind of recording of it, who's to say it would have been picked up on such a large scale by the press, or even at all?

I guess I get what you mean but things were being recorded way before the internet. I think it would have gotten around either way.

It's a big deal.

Dave Chappele's two stand ups are classics... Every single jokes hits hard. I think he's miles ahead of everyone else. I've watched them a hundred times by now and crack up every time. Guy is funny as hell and I am hoping someday he comes back with new material.

Still, mobile phones seem to mean that whatever happens, wherever in the world, someone has a video of it. That video is then instantly uploaded to the internet and so someone like Michael Richards is instantly shamed just minutes or hours after it happens. I just wonder what it is we haven't seen before mobile phones and before Youtube.

Bob Nelson
Hilarious... and you gotta lol at the fact that if some white guy did this standup today, he'd be ripped to shreds.
