This one's mainly directed to the english-speaking part of the community. I suppose most of you know about those peculiar letters in the swedish alphabet, Å Ä Ö, but do you know how they are pronounced? I'm under the impression that a lot of non-swedes see them as variations of A and O, kinda like accents or something, am I right?

I would say your perception is accurate. I have no clue how to pronounce those letters. When I read "Ö" I'm definitely just hearing an English "O" in my head.

Well.. old welsh. I would love to learn it, but if I spoke it, no one would know the greatness of its fucked up spelling and phonetic system unless I wrote it down.

Then it's probably my duty to inform you about the pronounciation, as none of them has any resemblance to the sound of either A or O:

Å: as in "wall" and "crawl"
Ä: as in "pass" and "stare"
Ö: as in "bird" and "sir"

That's why bands like Motörhead and Mötley Crüe sound rather funny up here. Not to mention Tröja, which with is the swedish word for sweater.
