Haha I find this hard to believe, coming from someone from an area of the world which is full of beautiful cities... you really thought it was outstanding? Mind if I ask why? I love Melbourne, but I've only ever lived in Australian and New Zealand cities, so I think I just love Melbourne because it's my home and the lifestyle suits me.

I'm pretty sure it did get 3rd place in most livable cities in the world, too. Which still astounds me! It is a great city, though... I could never live anywhere else - I've moved around but I always come back to good ol' Melbs!

I just had an absolute blast there. It may not be beautiful in the sense of castles and countryside but its still a very beautiful place. I thought it was the kind of place i could walk and be relaxed but also an absolutely killer place to go out for the night and get wasted. Fantastic nightlife.

I thought the same in Syndey but Melbourne just doesnt seem as chaotic so if i was gonna live in either, i'd go for Melbourne.

Fair enough Yep all these things are true. Except that Sydney is horrible IMO, every time I've been there I've absolutely hated it! It's so busy and businessy and concretey and boring.

It was very busy, yeah. Thats why i would choose Melbourne if i had to. Of course it wasn't a surprise that it was so chaotic and i could put up with it for the few days i was there but i couldn't face it every day.

But it is also absolutely gorgeous, i think. Sitting in the blistering heat with a cold pint looking out over Sydney harbour and the Opera House was probably the most relaxed i have ever felt, even if there were lots of people around me.

Fair enough! Oh that reminds me of another thing I dislike about Sydney, it's too hot! Way too hot. I prefer rainy cold Melbourne any day!

(If you haven't noticed there is a huge rivalry between Melb and Syd...)

If you think Scottish accents are bad, you obviously havent heard a Kiwi accent. We always say "Yeah nah" and dont pronounce I's. Its pretty bad

Do it! I'll watch it so I can practise my Scottish accent for when I quote Trainspotting

I have to seriously adjust my accent when speaking to non-scottish friends of mine at uni, gotta slow it down big time and cut out all the slang or else nobody understands a word haha
