Not quite sure what you mean by cabbage liquor. You might want to expand on that for us non-Einsteins.

Someone told me Jägermeister comes from cabbage and I believed him. It is a liqueur that's made with 56 differnt herbs and spices (some sources say roots, fruits, & blosoms). Just like Moonshine is made from corn mash I thought the alcohol that's added with herbs & spices was made from cabbage. Whether the alcohol that it's made with comes from cabbage, I'm not a 100% certain, I did trying to find a source online to verify what I said. I know Vodka is a drink that could be made from potatoes (or grain), so it seems plausible, because it comes from Germany it made sense it to me it would be made from cabbage. I don't mind the 56 herbs and spices, but it's the thought that it comes from cabbage makes me queasy thinking about it.

I always thought Jager tasted like black liquorice.

It's true. Blech. Only way I can drink it is mixed with ALOT of Red Bull.

Yeah, Jager's a bit skanky. Red bull makes it even worse for me, but I despise red bull so that's just me. Sambuca tastes more like something I'd actually want to drink, and it's got basically the same kick to it that a shot of Jager does.

I see.
Yea I got curious and looked it up but the sources I find doesn't say anything about cabbage. In fact, I can't find any sources hinting to exactly what kind of alcohol Jagermeister is processed with, but just that they add the roots, spices and all that other stuff to it and do a filtering process, etc.

I can't find much in the way of any cabbage fermenting process that any alcohol relies on either.

I'm so waiting for Sam Adams to make a seasonal 'Cabbage Ale'. I swear those guys will brew anything.

Yeah, I was kidding, but where's the booze! I love hearing other peoples opinions on Jager, as its one of my favorites. I don't know how it works, but mixes miraculously with some odd drinks. I love the red bull or root beer mix, or even just on the rocks. Unlike Vodka and Tequila, I can put down a fifth, maintain enough coherence to get my groove on, and not turn into a raging testosterone beast of fury. That makes for one hell of a drink.

Sadly, out of a billion flavors, I can only find myself getting into the Cherry Wheat.
