I love Yorkshire accents. But like, the sexy ones. Not the indistinguishable, toothpick kind.
I don't watch Coronation St but from the bits I've seen while my mum watches it, it seems that a lot of the accents are Yorkshire/Lancashire rather than Manc but maybe I'm wrong.

I quite like the Manc accents. And Liz White's Yorkshire accent on Life on Mars This really isn't a great example but it's hard to find one amongst all the fan video tripe.

What accent do you have then?

Actually, on the topic of accents I got told I have an Essex accent the other day. I'm from Kent and didn't realise the accents differed that much Seeing as Kent and Essex are pretty much neighbours). I am pretty well spoken most of the time, but now I'm paranoid that I sound like I've fallen out of a Romford Council Estate

i'm from liverpool so i've got a scouse accent. although it's a lot more numbed down in comparison to most, cos i went to school/college in a town just outside of liverpool and the people residing there have a totally different accent. so it's kind of subdued.

i get told i have a soothing accent but there's no way i'll accept that.

Huh. Ok, I feel your pain

On the whole though, I think I prefer Northern accents to Southern.... There's more variety. Much more interesting!

i hate hearing other scousers. especially on the phone, the accent just makes my toes curl really badly. i love the general southern accent though, its awesome on the right person. not overly keen on mancs or anyone from yorkshire either, although my mate sarah is a proper manc and her accent isn't bad at all.

favourite accent has to be geordie though, or scottish. amazing accents.

I got nothing against the Scottish accent, but my sister is seeing a guy from Glasgow and if he's drunk I just can't understand anything he says! Sober, it's fine, but pissed, it's like another language to me.
