Bacon is vastly overrated.
It's fatty and greasy. If you fry it, the fat integrates itself with the oil from the pan and it becomes greasier.
If you grill it, it crumples up and withers into a pathetic form.
It's nowhere near as filling as other hot filled roll options such as sausages, burgers, haggis, black pudding, etc.
Bacon flavoured crisps are always horrible and their scent is overpowering.
It's typically very low quality meat and isn't exactly inexpensive for what you're getting.

&& It's more or less inedible without Brown or Chili Sauce

Not a big bacon fan either. All the other meat stuffs you named are certainly superior, especially sausages.

Stop buying cheap bacon. That's your problem.

Either get slab bacon or turkey bacon. I'm more of a fan of turkey bacon because it's far superior.
