Cats are just chill and laid back, my cats are very loving but they give me my space.
Oh I dunno, I used to have Greyhounds. Being Sprinters, they need barely any walking (they're knackered after a fast, 20 minute walk), they're lazy as hell and pretty content to sleep most of the time and really, really laid back. They didn't think twice about my neice and nephew pulling their ears or curling up in their baskets with them. I don't really trust cats... Plus I find dogs have more character

Cleaning up after cats is torture and because we live in an apartment where we aren't supposed to have pets and have no utility room we have to hide the catbox in my closet and I'm not a fan of that at all.

But at least cats are potty trained, nothing worse than stepping on dog sh*t.

My 2 cats are actually pretty loving and attention starved, but not as annoyingly so as dogs. My mom has 5 indoor cats (and countless outdoor ones) and they're all very playful and energetic, well except two that are really fat and laze around a lot. But each one has their own distinctive personality.

Hey, dogs are toilet trained too! My dog taps at the door when he needs to pee/poo and we let him outside. Otherwise, he can wee or poop on command. I just take him outside and say "Do your wees!" and if he needs to go, he goes. I bet you couldn't do that with a cat!

I've really never understood this sort of sentiment. How many news stories have you ever heard about a cat mauling someone versus a dog mauling someone?

Was thinking less of 'mauling' as such, more of scratching! I've always found that dogs have a lot more patience with this sort of thing than cats. But then, I've always looked for dogs that are ok with kids anyway, being that I have loads of neices and nephews. There's no way I'd go down the pitbull/staff line - always nice, gentle dogs. People who are surprised when their Rottweiler suddenly takes a chunk out of their kid after the kid's been poking it with sticks for an hour still gets me...

Hey I've been scratched by cats so much that I don't even flinch anymore when it happens, scratches dont really hurt that much.

Dog bites do though. I can never be terrified of a cat like I can be terrified of a dog. Rottweilers and Pitbulls are never dogs I'm comfortable being around.

I think it just depends on the person. I've never been in a position where I've been terrified of a dog, I'm pretty comfortable around them and feel authorative enough to be in control, even with unpredictable or bigger dogs. But cats, maybe it's just me, but their scratches do hurt!! I still got a scar from my neighbours cat from when I was 12! Perhaps cats just know I don't like them... The same way dogs know if you're uncomfortable or scared, they'll take advantage...

i wrote a big post about why cats rock and dogs suck but it was lame so i'm posting a picture of me and my cat instead.

oh, and my unpopular non-musical opinion for today is that salty treats are much tastier than sugary treats

I don't trust a man that doesn't like man's best friend boobs! Cats are quite nice, I've always wanted a cat called Noel. But dogs are just brilliant.
