Why not? Prison rape is pretty common. Not saying it is more common, but you can't really know for sure if it often goes unreported.

I won't deny though that if guys stay out of jail and rough neighborhoods they'll be pretty safe by comparison. While with women avoiding rape is certainly not as easy.

Those rough neighbourhoods where you're from must be a LOT different from where I am, here you worry about getting stabbed if you're male and walking about at night. Raped? Unheard of.

I can back this up. Stabbing is a big deal but i've never heard one rape from roundabout Glasgow.

Not one reported case though in my memory, and I'm sure I'd remember if there was one. If it happens at all, it's undoubtedly exceptionally rare.

Yeah, when I see a gang of young guys drunk out their minds I tend to cross the road or change my route, because drunk neds almost always ends in a violent scene from experience. The last thing I'm thinking though is "shit, I could get raped here."
