Really, a smooth shave is a much easier look to maintain. Takes no time at all in the morning, always the same length, and you don't even need to see what you're doing. Just soap up, scrape it off and you're done.

Clippers are much trickier in my experience. Takes a few passes from a few angles to get everything nice and uniform, and then you're covered in clippings.

I know a guy who always has exactly an eighth of an inch of fresh, crisp stubble on his head. No more, no less. I've been meaning to ask him what he does. He must use clippers on it almost daily. That, to me, seems like a lot of work when my bald dome takes a couple of minutes in the shower each morning and I don't have to be especially careful about it.
