BlackBerry vs iPhone

Which is the better phone?

Dr.Seussicide 07-24-2010 08:11 AM

I have a blackberry. Suck my cock iPhone.

I think the iPhone's better though :(

The most redeeming thing about blackberries is the black berry messenger feature (bbm). But this requires you to know people who also have blackberries. It is essentially free texting to anywhere in the world with other blackberries. But ONLY blackberries..

The iPhone 4G I see has some antennae problems but I think they are in the process of resolving it. Jobs is being a cocky fucker about it though.

If you want to get the best smart phone.

Get the droid

TheCunningStunt 07-24-2010 08:18 AM

If mods can edit polls, can you change the 'bit' to 'both'? I was being a bit of a mong I think, if not then meh, it will have to do.

I think iPhones are an abomination, if they released 60gig iPhones, they would be good. 2GB iPhones are pathetic, my BB has a 2GB memory card. iPhone's to me are supposed to be the perfect phone, store all your music, lots of apps etc.

They're terrible. Glad I went for the BB.

Dr.Seussicide 07-24-2010 08:24 AM

I've never come across a 2GB iPhone though. They're either 8GB or 16GB. And I think as of recently they're only releasing the 16GB.

I'm sure they did a 2GB, that's why I was so disgusted. Then they released the same iPhone but with increased GBs instead. Twats.

BB for the win.

I have a 32GB iPhone and that works fine for me.

I like the iPhone because of the apps mostly, and how it does "all-in-one" (like phone, iPod, games, etc.) really well and it's really easy to use.

Erika! 07-24-2010 12:24 PM

I just got the new iPhone the other day..but the droid beats both from what I've heard. I still love the iphone.

I have a 20-dollar prepaid cell phone that calls and texts. I pay 20 dollars for 180 minutes and it lasts me at least 5 months. That's 4 dollars a month.

I think both phones are ridiculously unnecessary for an average person who isn't brainwashed by extremist consumer ideals.

Conversely these phones are the quite norm. The convenience of net on the go is welcomed. As a student I find it extremely helpful especially for quickly checking emails on the go.

Was it inconvenient to check emails on your computer before smart-phones became prolific?

I'm not saying they're useless... I'm just saying we think we need them more than we actually do, in most cases.

Dr.Seussicide 07-24-2010 04:54 PM

I wouldn't be to keen in thinking that by purchasing one of these phones I'm boxing myself into extremist consumer ideals. It's a convenience I'd gladly take advantage of if it makes my life easier for a sparse cost.

I agree, to an extent. I think they're just flashy, oooh my phone has this ap.

People must find it really handy for working. Last minute research of a business you're about to pitch a proposal to do, especially if you're un organised and leave things to the last second.

BB > iPhone.

Because my BB cos my £.0.00 and I get free internet and unlimited texts..

I have a $99 phone. Does the trick. I'm only interested in getting the iPad eventually.

I'm not against technology and convenience... I just don't see much convenience coming from a smart-phone that's worth the price of it.

What do you want the iPad for?

I think because it sounds like something every female should have.

Me too! Mine was only ten bucks. I went through a phase where I was breaking phones a lot and my jealous lady was trashing them even faster. I decided to get a ****ty phone she could break all she wanted and it completely deterred her from it. Its just too easy to replace. I rarely use the phone, as I have a house phone, so I stuck with the POS. I pay about the same as you.

I also have a Blackberry curve for work. I don't really use any of the features other than the GPS. I suppose it can do a lot, but thats why I have a computer. 'Connected' people annoy the fuck out of me.

infantrysgirl18 07-26-2010 08:01 AM

out of the two phones id go with the iphone only huge problem ive heard about with the 4 is the antenna/ dropped calls (but apple is giving free cases with it)
i prefer the i phone just b/c the operating system is relatively easy to handle and the touch screen is good.

but....out of all the phones out there i would get the Evo 4. that phone is fricken amazing in many aspects and i havent run into many issues with it to date (unlike the iphone 4..)

CanwllCorfe 07-26-2010 06:40 PM

I've had my iPhone for awhile. It's great! It's not very useful when I'm at my mom's (she has a computer) but the games always come in handy. When I'm at my dad's though, forget about it. No computer and he lives in the woods. It may sound nice but I've always lived in this general area so I've pretty much grown used to it. No friends around either. So the iPhone helps that situation out quite a bit. I like the games and apps.. and the main feature of having an MP3 player and a phone in one. That, and Apple's design is fandiddles. Design is a big thing for me.

hissundaygirl09. 07-27-2010 06:30 PM

Blackberry!

bannister 07-27-2010 07:13 PM

**** Apple, I love my Droid. (:

FETCHER. 11-06-2011 04:05 PM

I've had both, I've got the BB 9360 just now but I used to have an iPhone 3GS and it was well better. Really sorta miss my iPhone.

As a PHONE, the Blackberry is obviously the better one. The sound quality is absolutel brilliant, especially the bold versions.
When it comes to possibilities, the iPhone is definitely the better one. And it's pretty sturdy. I like iPhones, I just don't like apple and I don't like the fact that even if they're really very old, the price will stay high.

I've got a BB 9700 bold.
15 euro's (about 20USD) at a yard sale.
Found another defective blackberry for free and got myself a charger.
Works perfectly and it cost me about 25 euro's.
That's dirt cheap, but still... Not going to happen with an iPhone.

Burning Down 11-06-2011 07:25 PM

I just got the iPhone 4S. I like it!

FETCHER. 11-07-2011 05:39 AM

I kissed my mates 4S, she was beeeeee-you-tifuuuuul haha.

ThePhanastasio 11-07-2011 05:43 AM

My mother's got an iPhone 3GS, my 13-year-old sister has a 4, and my 22-year-old sister has a 4s.

With that said, I've messed around with their phones, and I'd take my BlackBerry any day. They're sturdier (mine's fallen off of balconies, out windows, into a toilet, etc.), more secure, and I don't have a ****ing phone just to play games on it.

As an aside, I just really don't like Apple products.

ThePhanastasio 12-26-2011 09:23 PM

I have a friend with an iPhone 4 who straight up wanted to trade me phones when I was showing him all the cool stuff on the Torch. Then, he wanted to play with my phone, couldn't figure it out, and bitched about how unnecessarily complicated it was. I wasn't going to trade him anyway.

I guess being user-friendly is more Apple's forte than RIM's. So that's certainly one point in Apple's favor, although I personally have had no problems working my BlackBerry devices. I guess if someone wanted more game-centric mobile device experience, they'd also gravitate to the iPhone, although I personally have tons of games on my Torch that are fantastic - Angry Pigs is just as good as Angry Birds...in that it's exactly the same game.

Oh! And I don't know if it's just my mom and sisters' phones, but my Torch has much faster video playback on wifi and 3G. My area doesn't have 4G yet.

CanwllCorfe 12-26-2011 09:42 PM

I have a 4 now. I definitely like it more than the 3G, especially the Maps app (since I use it all the damn time). I will miss my 3G. I still can't believe it survived being dropped in a toilet! I never felt so relieved, especially since it was just a couple weeks before I was going to trade it in.

I actually got to use my friend Roger's Blackberry and didn't really like it, especially the keyboard. They both have pros and cons. For me, the iPhone is a better choice. The only thing is that I think now I honestly like the white one more. I'll remember that for next time.
