Default Glasgowwww

So I've only been there once before, when I was a bit younger... and I'm ganna take a trip soon (it's not very far..). Just was wondering if anyone knows of the best clubs/pubs to visit and whereabouts around? And any other info to make it a glourious, unforgettable adventure.

Their notorious music scene is calling ma name.. (but although glasgow has the fratellis, it's leith that birthed the proclaimers.... )

bars - Nice N Sleazys, Captains Rest, 13th Note, Blackfriars are all my favourites. If you want a really cheap bar (and it's still decent) then go to Driftwood at the Charing X part of Sauchiehall Street.

clubs - it really depends what night you're going and what kinda clubs you like. There's always a decent night in Glasgow though. what nights will you be through here?

other advice - definitely go to Ashton Lane in the west end, near Glasgow uni. It's a lovely place, full of nice bars and restaurants, and there's a brilliant wee cinema there too. I've taken many a lucky lady out on Ashton Lane haha, it's quality.

I would avoid the majority of Glasgow outwith the centre/west end. The east end especially is to be avoided, and I say that with the best will in the world because that's where I'm from! Especially avoid Parkhead, because that's where THEY are from, if ye get my drift

Also - Kelvingrove Park and the Botanic Gardens are great places to have a picnic and a few drinks and just chill if the weather is good, which isn't often in Glasgow, admittedly...

go to Rockness, although it's in Inverness and not in Glasgow so it's a bit of a way. awesome festival though.

With regards to the neds, the worst of them tend to go to clubs like Victorias, Sea, Silver and The Savoy... avoid these places at all costs, dodgy as hell mate. You only tend to get neds kicking about town at night on Friday and Saturdays, I would highly recommend going out during the week... the best club nights in Glasgow are during the week anyway, they're cheaper and there's very rarely any hassle from neds. Even so, as long as you avoid those clubs at the weekend you should be sound.
