I wouldn't consider video games either embarrassing or age-inappropriate. Games these days are geared towards an older audience, and feature a lot of adult material.

I like video games, and they offer people the opportunity to be a kid again, if only for a short period of time. They're definitely not embarrassing and people of all ages can play them!

At the rate it's going kids will be playing video games to feel like adults pretty soon. Excluding sports games, pretty much every top selling video game of the past 5 years or so has been Rated M.

What about Littlebigplanet?

That sold tons of copies, and isn't rated M. It's also my favourite game, and I still play it on a regular basis.

I don't think you can really call video games childish anymore. I mean people born in 1980 will be 30 this year and most of them remember having some kind of gaming console. They're now having kids who will grow up with some kind of video game console in their house.

There are exceptions of course, but look at the all time top ratings on Gamespot. GTA IV, Halo 3, Gears of War, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War, etc. etc. The industry thrives on the 14-30 (ish) age group.

PS, Little Big Planet fucking rules

Dungeons and Dragons- the cartoon series from the mid 80's- sucks balls in one sense but I still watch it.

I am still waiting to rewatch Star Fleet too. That show was awesome:
