I've read about using xanthan gum, agar agar, and a few other things that give an even more similar consistency to 'actual' ice cream. The issue is mainly with caseine, it's the protein in mammal dairy that causes it to... I guess 'form' would be the right word... the way it does in different scenarios. It allows cheese to melt, be spreadable, ice cream to be rich and creamy withouth getting all icy... it's a magical thing and we're actually very close to being able to synthesize it.
yea i don't really care about healthy but i wasn't aware that vegan ice cream even existed tbh. i thought you guys had to eat frozen yogurt which is ok i guess but expensive and even so still not quite as good in my experience.

question though.. is there a vegan alternative to this:

On the health thing... fair point, especially when we're talking about ice cream. But... Psh, dude, Ben n J's Half Baked? That's friggin child's play. You'd have to make it yourself but it'd be worth it in the end because it would probably be even better. In fact, I might just try and do that because that does look enticing. Banana and cashew base, cacao nibs for the chocolate, vanilla bean for the vanilla. basic fudge brownie and cookie doughs. I wish it wasn't almost midnight and I had a decent enough excuse to make it right now.

Sometimes I just wanna grapple people by the collar and shake the life out of them. Or some sense into them.

Every time I have a weird customer, I look around to locate things I could potentially beat them to death with if I have to.

My parents think I'm a Christian still, but I'm an agnostic. Idk, I just never got around to telling them about it or thinking it mattered to them at all. Anyway, they've set up a fundraiser at the church where the members donate to a cause: my education. On top of that, my school (being a Lutheran university, this being a Lutheran church) will match any donations given by the congregation.

I feel a vague moral dilemma going on. Congratulate me or berate me, I'm still going through with it (might even toss a hundo or so in the donation bin).

i don't understand the dilemma tbh. if you really need to feel righteous just convert to christianity and take the money. otherwise just take the money.
