One of the things that really confuses me is the comment in the OP that even if your nomination doesn't make the short list you can still participate fully. Does this mean that you can still do a write-in of whoever you want in the voting round? That's certainly how I'd prefer to do it but it seems like it would make this first step in the process pretty redundant.
It depended on the category. If you had 14 nominations you couldn't who got 3+, if there were only 5 people nominated, you threw everyone up there

Actually, I dont even prefer it this way. I just assumed everybody else did as we did this way before and nobody suggested any changes when I gave them the opportunity.

But it doesn't matter now anyway. As seen as my laptop died yesterday and I also just can't be screwed anymore, I'm just gonna leave this open until the end of the month and then count the votes in the new year instead.

My last post there wasn't actually asking why things are the way they are, but simply how it works.

It's alright. I don't want it to come over like I'm having a little temper tantrum or anything either, but a few people have expressed interest in just counting the votes over the last several pages and so I think I'll just do that. I would have done it that way had people asked anyway and it's less work for me, which is fine as I won't be around as much.

I personally like the system of 3 Nominations for a category and you're on the ballet. But whatever works works.
