I see ;) cropping up quite a bit. Though :D and :) seem to be common as well.

I tend to use a lot of emoticons. It's (and I'm going on about this all the time, I know) pretty hard to express your emotions in a language you're not used to.
So, yeah.

I'm not raggin' on you, I just think it's funny.

Allright then. I usually think that using too many emoticons is a sign of lacking the ability to express yourself linguistically.
But then, emoticons are a really welcome addition to message boards and chats :)
