3-Story Townhouse
Mine No Thanks :) |
Nice place Plank.
I live in a two storey townhouse. It's overrun by dolls, hot wheels and women's clothes (wife is a shopaholic). I'm enjoying the new air conditioner put in yesterday. I don't have a man cave. I have a small office, which isn't a bad substitute. Bears, eh? I have cheese heads in the basement. I do like those superfans skits on SNL though. |
I remember being overrun by Polly Pockets. lol
Sweet on the new ac, we just had new roofing and gutters installed. |
It's the second thing we replace in six months. Earlier this year, we removed the hot water tank and put in a tankless water heater. So nice. Last week, while out at a cabin, my wife took all the hot water for her steam bath, I mean shower. I was not used to that at all. I skipped my shower and jumped in the lake instead.

I'd also like to point out how crazy prices have gone up for home repairs. The AC we bought likely would have cost just over half pre pandemic.
It appears as though we might need to repave the driveway soon. Bell is in the neighbourhood laying down fibre. Our driveway was paved six years ago. It was in great shape, until now. They cut a 75cm square hole at the foot of the driveway. They filled it will crushed gravel first, then put in a little asphalt. After the first freeze/thaw cycle, the foot of the driveway will be f***ed. They still have to dig a 10cm trench along the length of the driveway. I'm all for progress, especially with technology. I'm against it being done half assed. |

● the pane windows (especially the one above the front door) ● stairs leading from front door right into livingroom ● the very comfortable-looking couch and chair/ottoman ● everything in pristine condition ● kitchen flooring (leading into adjoining room) ● kitchen island (always wanted one of those) ● plenty of kitchen cabinets ● nice big cutting board, btw ● music studio upstairs (!) ● guitars, basses, mandolin, dobro, ukes, bongos ● amps/speakers to blast music in garage How great is it that something terrible just 10 months ago turned into something wonderful. :) |

That couch was a lucky find from a friend of a friend who bought it and it didn't fit their space, so I got it at a steal of a price. It's really comfortable for leather, which I've always stayed away from. That butcher block is a John Boos, btw. We're just getting started though. I still need quite a few pieces of furniture, so for the big stuff I'll buy new unless I get lucky find something like that couch, but for a lot of other things I'll hit up the resale shops and garage sales. I went to 12 g-sales last weekend and I'll be hitting quite a few more today. |
Nice digs Planksir. I'm sorry to hear about the fire. That garage is definitely a huge selling point though. My aunt converted hers to basically a detached hang out space (AC & heat), and these days I can't fathom wasting that space for anything else if you have the option.

Heck yeah, thanks Carpe. I've always been a hanging out in the garage type person, from way back when I was a kid helping my Dad with his projects. I have his urn and whats left of his ashes in my toolbox, so he's right at home there with me. :)
The previous owner installed a gas heater with a direct line and a Thermacore door, so it's gonna be nice and cozy when winter comes. |
