Pretty self explanatory, show everyone pictures of your house/room.
Give us a guided tour.
With pictures of anything that you feel defines you as a person.
Maybe your records, maybe your wardrobe, maybe your fridge.
Maybe just shots of your general room - whatever.
I hope this idea takes off, it'd be cool to get to know everyone better through seeing where they hang out.

I'll upload my room when I can be bothered finding my camera.

(P.s if anyone steals my 'and this is where the magic happens' line, I'll cuntpunt you.)

I was coming out of my bed this morning and I thought "I'm going to open an MB cribs topic tonight". And I forgot. And you just did it. That's brilliant mate!

This is my bedroom from one side. I'm sorry the bed is unmade. I had to make these pics really very fast because the guy who owns the Fish-eye lens had to go home ;D

And the other side. The curtains on the left are actually closets. I wanted curtains instead of doors so I could put stuff in front of them and it's better for the acoustics of the room (sounds rather hollow)

But you have a garage pad to hang out in, and an actual bedroom in the main house(?) and the shape of your actual room is brilliant.

The garage is part of the main house. We've made a hole in the ceiling that leads to the bedrooms. The living room of my parents is beside the garage.
I just made a video for you but I sort of ****ed up as I talked to much. So now it's 20 minutes long. Gonna have to cut in it a bit :)

s_k... the lens convexness creeps the **** out of me on your camera.

That's why it's called a fish-eye lens. It's the only way to get so much on one picture.
It's not my lens by the way. These things are like $300. Haven't got the money for that :)

MOAR people.
Though, I haven't done one myself yet.
So I can't really be demanding others to do one.
If the idea takes off, I'd love to put an index in the OP of everyone's crib.

I'm warning you, it's a quicky. The camerawork is pretty sickening.
I just edited it. Had to cut out quite a lot so sometimes the things I say don't really make sence. I'm rendering it now, takes some time. Will put it on youtube really quickly.

That's from Ikea. You know what Ikea is? I'm not sure if you have Ikea's in America. Eitherway, my girlfriend gave it to me when she left. I really liked it. It's so practical.

Yep, that's the shelf I was talking about. Mine's from Ikea too. I keep my records in the bottom shelves of mine. It's the perfect size for them.

They're just perfect for records. As you see most of my records are in my living room. The book case there has been built for audio and records (my dad made it with the dimensions I gave him :))

I was kind of bothered by my own accent. It's annoying, hearing that your english sounds crappy but not knowing what to do about it. Ah well, hope you understood what I said most of the time. And I meant beneath the lamp. Not beside. What the hell was I thinking :D.

They do like me to be quiet at 2AM though. There's a big hallway behind that door so everything that comes close to the door echoes there. But apart from that they'd rather have me living with them. When my girlfriend moved out my mom actually started cooking for me and inviting me for dinner because the felt sorry that I had to be alone. Yeah... Pretty sweet. And I don't mind. She kooks a whole deal better than I do.

No need to make a video. I just figured I would. I'd love to see some simple pics.
And I never thought about how I was going to make it. I just started the camera, my tongue got stuck, I stopped it, started again and this is the result apart from some editing. So I didn't think about doing a disclaimer as I wouldn't know in advance how crappy the video would become :D. I did mention the fact that I didn't clean up before.

I value anonymity and barely dare to post pictures in the members pic thread (after a while I go back and remove the links from those posts), so I doubt I'll be partaking in this thread, but that's a cool crib, s_k :) Fun to see!

Well you're Dutch so of course you have a Dutch accent but that doesn't mean your English isn't good. Plus Dutch accents are cool.

Maybe I'm doing something really stupid here, but you guys seem pretty scared about revelealing things about your houses and such. What are you afraid of? Is there something in this world I don't know of or is it just cultural? :)

I'm afraid of how messy my apartment is.

Man, my place is a dump compared to that. All you need to know is I live in a box with a tv and a window. Grad student stipends, what can I say?

For me, I just don't want to be an easy target for some hate project should I ban someone who gets pissy.

I got a death threat once when I participated in a whaling discussion even though all I did was post the estimated size of the north sea minke whale population, thus arguing that the problem of whaling is not so much ecological as it is moral. I wasn't exactly scared I would get killed, but getting the threat made me realize that at that point, my real name, address and even phone number was easily found with a couple of minutes of google searching. If someone on /b/ had requested a hate hit on me, it would've been very easy. So, now I try to be a bit more anonymous.

That and it's messy here!
