It's not as wealthy as Norway and they speak a different (if similar) language and of course there's a lot of volcanic activity and so on, but aside from all that, it felt a bit like I was on a vacation in Norway.

So of course it was nice.

Hahaha, you sort of do realize you could save a lot of money by just... stepping outside of your house next time, right?

Sure! But on the other hand, my favourite part of the trip was the hot springs which we don't really have here and because Iceland is an overall cheaper country than Norway, you can save money by doing stuff there. Some of the restaurant meals we had there would be a lot more expensive in Norway!

Finally, Iceland was settled by norwegian settlers and so we share a cultural heritage and with them being neighbours and everything .. As a norwegian, it's the sort of place I think you have to visit at least once.

I think the same. But I think that for every scandinavian country.

Have you made pics? Do we have a travel pics topic?
Could be nice .

I'd like to apologise for seriously dropping the ball on this. I started it and then thanks to a broken laptop I wasn't online over New Year and throughout January. Since getting back online I've had one or two things going on that I've needed to see to which has stopped me from visiting as well. Apologies to everyone involved.

Thanks for picking it up Freebase, you did a far better job than I would have done. And congrats to the winners.

I'll be around more often than I have been, but I still have one or two things on my plate right now. Might not be 100% back for a little while longer.
